Some people who live in Orlando may be happy with less people moving here to drive up their cost of housing.
Not everyone is thrilled with the mass influx of new residents.

Yes, Disney has many subsidiaries in Florida, the original company is based on California. And many of the officers from some of these subsidiaries are still working out of Burbank.

Also, link as to most of Disney's subsidiaries being Florida corporations? I don't know for sure, but I highly doubt that.

    1. Chicago and Detroit aren't states.
    2. California and New York are #1 and #3, respectively, in the U.S. in terms of GDP. If that's being "destroyed" while West Virginia and Mississippi are success stories, you clearly have very different priorities than most folks.

And yet, Disney considered it in its best interest to not be silent. The beauty of living in America is that we have the right to speak up without the government being able to punish us. The fact that you seem to believe otherwise is disappointing.

Knowing that several hundred of them already made the move here from California, what price should Florida pay for Ron's presidential ambitions?

I have to say, the lengths some posters are going to polish the turd that is economic flight is humorous. Yet another example of how partisan thinking causes drain bamage.

The general right wing concensus in this thread is they dont care if Florida is worse off economically if it owns da libs. I should be shocked, but I'm not.

So much wrong with this post. There is a reason the Republican Party is slowly dying out (thank god) and has almost no chance at being relevant once the boomers are no longer around. They haven’t won a popular vote in years, and young voters are almost all voting exclusively blue. Major blue cities are expensive to live in because they’re much more educated, and, due to this fact, pay their residents proper wages based on their education level and abilities. Nobody with a brain wants their state to look like West Virginia or Mississippi, get real for a second, lol. When the coal mining industry tanked in West Virginia, the state suffered catastrophic loss of jobs and economic hardship due to the fact that none of these individuals were educated enough to find jobs elsewhere to replace their manual labor job.

The Republican Party is good at two things: Tax breaks for the rich, and creating fake culture wars to rile up their base and distract from the fact that they’re completely incompetent as a party at actual legislation and offer nothing of real relevance that will make any of their constituents’ lives better. As long as they “own da libs”, though, their voters will continue to mindlessly vote for them while not realizing they’re actual against their best interests. It’s very sad to see. When the Republicans offer an actual platform that helps the lives of their voters, it will be the first time in a very, very long time.

Ok Skippy, I'll try harder. Here is Iger in NOVEMBER saying it's pushed back until 2026 and will look into the ramifications of relocating. Simple as that. Add in their stock price hasn't gone higher in 5 years and any normal person can understand why Disney cancelled the move. Oh, and I like how you are making a $2 Billion dollar investment seem like it's nothing LOL. Too funny. I'd say try harder but we both know that won't happen.

Bob Iger Addresses Lake Nona Relocation at Cast Member Meeting - WDW News Today

As it stands, the relocation of Imagineering to Lake Nona, Florida, has been delayed until 2026. Iger stated that he has not made a decision and will look into the potential ramifications of relocating versus staying in California.

Ah… West Virginia. A place so wonderful, they literally have to pay people to move back there.

Ex-West Virginia residents offered $25K to move back

Have you actually been to these places??? Have you experienced rural poverty? It sucks. Personally I’ve never been to WV. Seen plenty of the rural south though, some of it’s pretty shocking and looks like a 3rd world country.

A guy pushing for 3rd world economics because “corporate jobs bring blue voters” is definitely a new angle. Even typical commies usually want their people to have jobs and tout economic expansion., it at least keeps them busy from overthrowing the govt. I guess MAGA commies envision a different sort of existence…

He’s not being sincere. It’s his attempt to belittle rural Floridians.

The thing is West Virginia does have big corporations, they are just extraction-based industries like fracking and mining, and they pretty much dominate state politics.

As someone who is actually from West Virginia and was born in Logan county, our parents growing up couldn’t move us out of the state fast enough. All of what you said is true, and anyone citing them, or states like Mississippi or Alabama as places they’re proud of and would love to live in compared to more educated, blue run states is clearly delusional and lying to themselves. You shouldn’t want to willingly live somewhere so poor and uneducated that it impacts the everyday living of almost all of the individuals living in that state, but you’re more than welcome to if you want, lol.

What’s cute about this thread is ….. wokesters feigning they care about this decision by Disney. Really, who cares that Disney decided to keep these jobs in California? Who’s actually impacted by it?

Just more nonsense on Too Absurd for Seamp Gas.

After spending the past week driving I4 to care for my mom, how the heck do people live in Orlando. Jeez it’s like Atlanta.
They surely need more folks there.
