You just nailed what made all of this so anti-science. “She already had Covid”

And we ignored that. Even in Florida with policies. Though ahead of the game.

I googled excess deaths and found this study. The unvaccinated accounted for 130,000 excess deaths from COVID between May 30 and Dec 4, 2021. And this from the CDC, that links excess deaths are associated with COVID-19. And let's not forget the fact check that says any link between vaccines and excess deaths is full of crap.

COVID-19 wasn't killing anyone before 2019. It quickly became the third leading cause of death around the globe in 2020, so not a surprise that we'd see excess deaths when something that didn't exist quickly becomes a third leading cause of death in less than a year. Also not a surprise to see these excess death numbers linger, especially when around 30% of the planet's population is still unvaccinated.

In addition, part of the repercussions of the global pandemic were people now going to their doctor as often. It's a no-win scenario for many people with existing conditions. Stay at home and try to avoid getting COVID, which could be a death sentence. But doing so could cause problems because you are not treating the existing condition properly. Another reason why we are seeing excess death numbers.

Still, it doesn't change the fact that the vaccines have extremely low levels of side effects. 5.5 billion jabs and no evidence the vaccine causes any deaths in the US with the exception of the small number from the J&J, which was pulled from the shelves. But thousands of lives saved.

No, but would like some for my niece's and nephews who had to do remote learning for over a year in PA. Glad you are ok with millions of kids having severe learning loss because of stupid policies.

Of all things that cause learning loss all the time (perpetual teacher shortages, poverty, bad nutrition, high-stakes testing, et al) this is the hill you want to die on? Something no one can do anything about anymore?

Sure we can do something about it. Apologize to the children and assure the people this won't happen ever again. Simple as that. After that we can move on.

Nope. I'll settle for everyone who was pro-closing schools on TooHot to apologize and we can move on. Go gather everyone and get back to me.

So much misinformation here but let me try.
Over a million dead Americans see it different.

No different than any other vaccine people take.

Yeah you guys like to say the vaccine was experimental despite the fact that it had already undergone clinical trials. Look up “experimental drug” and you’ll see the vaccine was well past the experimental phase before being offered to the public. And those who took part in the clinical trials were volunteers, no one was required.

Why? They literally had nothing to do with it. Ron DeSantis has more to apologize for than anyone posting here, who had no role in policy in FL or anywhere else. Maybe you should seek out the people who made decisions for your apology.

You asked for what I wanted. I'll settle for Fauci apologizing. Let me know when that happens. DeSantis handled schools being open better than just about any other Gov so yeah, he did a stupendous job in that regard, thanks for pointing that out.

Life is about choices and those of us in the adult world know that some choices are hard. A company has the right to make policies the employees may not like, but are free to look for employment elsewhere.

He did the thing you said was bad, closed schools. If you saying schools shouldnt have been closed, he failed, but you are letting him off the hook.

Closed them shorter than just about every other state, so when grading against the rest of the US Gov's, he did a very good job. Thanks for playing.

You are saying that we shouldnt have closed schools period not for a shorter amount of time. You seem to be selective about who you demand apologies from, even people who did the thing you say was so damaging. Not helping your case saying a person who closed schools did a "very good job" instead of actively harming education.

I said it was ok to shut schools down before we had the data about children and if schools were vectors for spread. We had the data from Europe by June of 2020. So then DeSantis said schools would open on time in August. So YES, he did a great job compared to all Gov's. Good try at a "gotcha" moment.

So maybe you should apologize for being pro-shutdown?

Sure, I was wrong to think it was ok to close schools when we had ZERO data on covid and it's affect on children and if schools were vectors for spread. See, it's easy. BUT, once we had the data in June 2020 all schools should've opened. Simple as that.

A lot of qualifiers and I don't see an "I'm sorry for harming the children" anywhere. Sack up and apologize to us!
