This is great news for sports gamers...

It has been almost 10 years since the last edition of Electronic Arts’ NCAA college football video game, which was among the most popular titles for the sport before its cancellation. College football fans have waited for years to see the return of the beloved and it appears that the time is nigh for the cherished offering from the video game giant as the franchise is set to return in the summer of 2024.

EA Sports has contracted OneTeam Partners to incorporate the names, images and likenesses into the game, e k ${u}">which is being relaunched with a summer 2024 release date, the company confirmed to USA TODAY Sports. The agreement will allow all eligible FBS players to opt in to have their likenesses incorporated and players will be compensated for opting in.

“We’ve wanted to feature collegiate athletes in a meaningful way from the start of our journey to bring an EA SPORTS college football experience back to our fans,” EA Sports said Wednesday in a statement. “We’re excited to have an agreement in place with OneTeam Partners that will enable us to include the names and likenesses of eligible collegiate football athletes at NCAA Division 1 Football Subdivision schools who opt-in to being featured in EA SPORTS College Football.”

Will be curious to see how much players get paid for their likeness and how they tier it.

By my math, there are about 10,625 FBS football players on scholarship. If they paid even just $100 per player on average, they'd be paying over $1 million in NIL, just for FBS. That would surely jack the retail price of that games up.

Just wait for the inevitable shitshow. Whining about their ratings. Whining about how much they're getting paid. They'll probably end up pulling the plug for the same reasons they did the first time (too much nonsense securing all the rights).

Or because the game is based off of Madden they pull the plug because it will be a total crap show.

Do you think they might have re-mastered the old game? They have had 10 years to prefect it.

I'll buy a console if this game is awesome but isn't released on PC.

    Come at me, bros.
