Hard to say if we caught any terrorists. The terrorist watch list contains names, often times very generic names, and often times the "terrorist" we catch is just someone with an unfortunate name. Think if the immigrants were all from America and Canada, and the name John Smith was on the terror watch list.
I'm confused. I thought we had an open border. How could we catch terrorists at the border if it's open? Are you telling me all the right-wingers crowing about the "open border" are lying?
There could be multiple explanations. For instance there are American citizens on the terrorist watch list. How many of the Jan 6th arrestees were on the watch list? I'm just saying there could be a lot of factors that contribute to those kinds of statistics.
So what your saying is despite all of those explanations they still got caught. Dark Brandon does it again!
Wasn’t it pretty recently they were complaining about a huge fentanyl bust under the same pretense? “Biden is doing absolutely nothing about the Fentynyl pouring across our borders. Proof: look at this record setting drug bust!” These GOP politicians have pushed the zombie sheep so far down the rabbit hole with talking points they don’t even have to make sense anymore. And they know it. (Look at Senator Kennedy’s sick comments about Mexicans eating cat food).
Not at “the border” but oops …….. US military walks back claims that it killed a top al-Qaeda boss >>However, according to the Washington Post, the family of Misto have denied that he had any connections to the notorious terror group. They said he was a kind, hardworking man whose 'whole life was spent poor,' the publication reported. Speaking to The Post on condition of anonymity, two officials walked back on the claim that the strike killed a senior al-Qaeda leader. 'We are no longer confident we killed a senior AQ official,' one said, according to the newspaper. Another said: 'though we believe the strike did not kill the original target, we believe the person to be al-Qaeda.'<>
Hmmm..... you guys can't actually believe that the border is secure and there are not more people trying to cause now than in the past, can you?
The border isn't any less or more secure than before. And there has only been a recent surge because of the end of Title 42, which was brought on by the pandemic. Had the pandemic no occurred, the rate of undocumented immigrants would have been steady, like it has been for decades. Short of full militarization of a 2,000 mile border, which would be astronomically expensive, our border will never be fully secure. Israel has a 400 mile wall and it's breached with regularity on a daily basis, and they have a much more contentious relationship with their neighboring countries than we do. No, the best we can do is make the immigration more orderly with an expanded guest worker program, which is what has been suggested by bipartisan committees on several occasions.
The best way to secure the border is to increase jobs in Mexico. If anyone cared we would be locking up people who employed illegal aliens. Concern about the border is theater.
It’s instability in Central and South America as well, far from just a Mexico problem. Although if Mexico were better, many migrants would probably want to stay there vs. continuing on their journey.
