LAST thing I'm worried about lol With a very vulnerable team this is a manageable draw. Still unlikely given the pitching, but there's a viable path to advance and that's all we can ask
And LSU.. First SEC top 3 to ever not host, but 4, 5 & 6 did..lol Not least bit surprising. How good the random teams everyone schedules in pre season tourneys end up being is obviously more important than SEC finish. Makes sense..
Strange we haven't participated in that Clearwater tournament yet. We always start in the weak USF tournament. And we host our own tournament with a bunch of cupcakes.
She hurt a foot or ankle in the 7th inning of one of their games in the SEC tournament. She limped around in pain, tried to go, but couldn't continue and then couldn't pitch in the championship game against Tennessee. I think she's being evaluated today or tomorrow.
Walton and USF's coach are good friends and coach one of the U.S. National teams together. I think Tim has committed to play in the Tampa tournament to help his buddy. But they definitely need to re-think their pre-conference scheduling.
Delbrey has only pitched 2 innings in the last 4 games-How far do you think the EH/Trlicek combo can go?
Well, I hope we come ready to play unlike our earlier trip out West this season. Lots of excuses as I recall.
lol stupidity, especially when beat them H2H. but i just heard the chair,, mystery solved on the incompetence of the seeds. AU went to OKC to play OU twice btw,,anyone else do that? nope. If hadnt and stayed home to play Brown,, they are probably hosting. Not thaty it really matters. Unless other 63 teams are forming all star team OU wont break a sweat,, and still might not vs that AS team..lol Bama 5th in SEC and 5th overall seed.. yeah they are brilliant..smh
One of our best wins of the season may be beating Boston U in our first game 11-2. Boston finished 51-8 and are ranked in the Top 10 nationally in hitting and pitching.
I attended that USF tournament for the first time this year. They have a nice facility. Competition was really bad though. I agree with you we need to play against the best in Clearwater. Hopefully we will have the pitching to face that competition next season.
We have a chance against Stanford. The bad news...their conference ERA is 2.15 and they strikeout about one batter per inning. The good news their conference BA is 246 to our 279 and they only hit 8 homeruns in conference to our 22. Keep the faith. I'm excited again. The odds are against us but I think we have a chance to get to WCWS. I thought we were totally dead in the water before the selection show.
I have no issue using SOS, strength of wins etc if you have a "tie" trying to determine between 2 team. When you finish ahead of a team(s) and also beat them H2H, there is nothing to debate IMo. I dont care if they beat OU 5 times out of conf.
Apparently the committee didn't see it that close between Bama & Auburn because of the number of "quality" wins by Alabama and the SOS disparity. I totally agree that Alabama should not have been a Top 8 seed, but I do think they should have been seeded ahead of Auburn because of their overall body of work comparison. That's just me.
And finishing ahead of Bama and beating them 2/3 on road tells me otherwise, but thats just me.. I actually thought them being 5 would be good sign for rest of SEC hosting.. well. I guess it was minus one..lol
