The flashed some leather today as well. Outscored the #5 team in the country (former #5) 22-4. Incredible. The pitching seems to be rounding into form down the stretch, which is ideal. Winning on the road in the SEC is really tough, but the way this team is playing, they're going to be hard to beat. Gooooo Gators!!!

A bunch of the Sully haters, who only post during losses like last week @ ATM, have been oddly silent this weekend. Weird.

    They know who they are.

True, but It's about the only sport they are good at so I I can understand a bit. Unlike the Vols who are obnoxious wannabees.

Hard hit balls have a good chance of being hits but they can also be outs and many times double plays. It all depends on where it is hit and where the defense is. As a pitcher I would love a sharply hit ball to the shortstop to start a double play. Much better than a slow roller to short.

Wee Willie Keeler said it best: Hit it em where they aint.

Of course he wasn't thinking about the bleachers because back when he played the home run was not common.

I wish that Cags would take a few inside out swings to left field and not try to pull everything for a dinger. That would open up the right side for him a lot. I know that he wants to hit dingers but baseball is not just about hitting dingers. His oppo single on Friday was a great piece of hitting. I bet that got him some positive reviews with the scouts.

Reached 40 wins in the regular season. That's always impressive.

Cags has been going the other way a lot lately. He hit the home run down the left field line that was reviewed. He really crowds the plate. His back foot actually almost looks out of the box at times.

i know it has already been said in this thread but Cags was AWESOME today. There is a difference between being a thrower and a pitcher. Cags was definately a pitcher today. Well done!

I remember that but he still looks to pull almost everything, Once he gets the other side to respect the entire field he will be an even bigger monster at the plate.

    Yep
They are what I saw 5 weeks ago in Nashville. He gets more out of them. Don’t get me wrong, He has big time arms but they don’t hit much or have a ton of bat talent. Our pitching staff was awesome this weekend. Anytime you shut down a Vandy squad like we did. It’s very impressive.

A beautiful day at the ball park in many respects. Jac's best outing vs SEC- he was in command of all his pitches and whatever control issues he's had seem to be ironed out now. He threw a gem. Team looks like it's coming together very nicely and just at the right time. Langford's a hoss- and seems to be seeing the ball extremely well-- his first bomb was easily over 425'. Neely not his sharpest but got the job done. And after the ballgame many proud mom's and other family members gathered on the field for photo ops with their sons.
Langford was seen signing autgraphs along the rightfield line and by the numbers waiting for his autograph- he may still be there signing away- really a fine young man and heckuva a ball player.
Just a wonderful weekend of baseball- holding Vanderbilt to four runs.
Yeah-- it's Great to be a Florida Gator!

Great final home weekend of the regular season Gators. Got to give credit to the top 3 in the order. Besides Riopelle's one hit, the first three did all the damage. The bottom half of the order contributed very little other than a walk that came around to score and a ground out to score a run. Hey, but that's baseball. The bottom of the order certainly did their part in the first two games. Overall this was the best team effort this season so far. It was good to see Cags did not want to come out even after throwing 100 pitches. He really wanted that last out. Unfortunately Neely let that run score and Cags had to take the earned run after being taken out. Now its all about getting ready for Thursday's series and taking care of business. Lots of possibilities how we finish up so ever run counts across the SEC scoreboard this coming week.
