I'm guessing the pastor in the OP agrees with you on that. Now which one of you gets to decide who is doing it?

It just seems that whenever you have these Christians doing this horrible shit all you “real Christians” dismiss them out of hand as being “not real Christians.” But I bet ten times as many people go to that super church as do your church. Are they all fake Christians if they support what their pastor tells them?

All I’m saying is it seems abundantly clear that the word of Christ is being perverted not just by this guy but by a lot of the pastors preaching to the very people who post on this board (looking at you, plank) but nobody ever seems to think they THEY are the ones receiving the perverted version of the word. It’s always other people.

I mean he’s got a very valid point. Followers attend rallies…it’s not like you limited your “support” to voting. You literally went to a gathering to cheer him on.

Depends. Is he representing the Bible by preaching hermeneutically or is he preaching the Bible for his own desires?

I would think he would argue the prior and you would argue the latter (and that others might argue both of you on one side or the other). So which of you gets to make that call? Divorcing people who have tactically unhelpful views from Christianity because it is useful seems like it is using religion for personal desires.

This is a fair question. I would venture to guess that very very few people who support the Democratic Party would say that they want to destroy America. I am not saying that 50% of the population outright wants to destroy America. I only believe a small percentage on the fringe left would say that. "Hope," "change," "progress," "human rights," "equality," and "love" are the words that people would use to describe the values they believe the Democratic Party and its platform represents.

So, I think there is a spiritual deception that animates the DNC and its platform. And I do believe the devil is the author of that spiritual deception, which, in this culture and society, are lies that a society can reject the council of God and pursue some kind of delusion of "hope," "change," "progress," "human rights," and "love."

When you think of the word "hate" you probably think of Westboro Baptist Church or Trump. You might even possibly think of me depending on how deeply engrained the way of thinking I described in the previous paragraph goes.

When I think of "hate" I think of the devil, who is more crafty and full of more malice than any human being who has ever lived. And that malice is directed at God and the crown of God's creation mankind. I think about the way the devil can take things that are evil, unjust, dishonorable, rebellious, prideful, blasphemous, slanderous, untrue, harmful, and unholy, and he knows how to take such things, put them on a platter, and dress them up as things that are good, just, honorable, faithful, humble, reverent, truthful, harmless, holy, and commendable. And the whole motive for this plot is hatred. It is murder. He wants to sift people like wheat. He wants as many people to go to hell with him as possible. That is what I think of when I think of hate.

So, to fully answer your question...people are often deceived. It is hard and almost impossible to know whether the people at the top of the DNC are premeditating the destruction or if they are deceived by some strong delusion about a utopia that they think they are going to create. Regardless, of which of the two is true, we know enough about the devil to know his fingerprints are all over the left and its agenda. He's the one at the top of it all IMO.

It is pretty easy to see this man is not preaching Biblically from a hermeneutical standpoint.

How often do you read the Bible? How much of the Bible have you read? I'm just curious.

"We are here ready to take this nation back," said Burns during the event this week.

I wonder what he means by this? Given his comments about the violence encouraged, if not outright mandated by the Bible, I doubt he's referring to the ballot box.

So, what then? Kill all the liberal politicians? Kill all Democrats? These guys are all rhetorical grandiosity and vanishingly devoid of details.

Personally, I think fomenting violent insurrection is treason, and not protected speech. Also, yank their tax exemption, pronto.

Dont know anything about this clown, but anyone proclaiming the need for violence while serving the Prince of Peace is off his rocker.

How so? You don't think he is interpreting the bible? Or he isn't interpreting the bible in the way you interpret it?

True. But, A mega church on TV on a network that he had to create to have a network right?

Not saying he doesnt have an audience, but it isnt that broad, especially in todays YouTube world. This guy is probably chump change in numbers compared to most of the gamers my kid watches.

That is a stretch, and it is not very charitable. And it boils down to breaking the 9th commandment. Q has told you what his heart, mind, and motive is in going to the rally. That should be enough. There is no need to slander and bear false witness about his motives here, even if you feel slandering other posters is a convenient way for you to shut them down and give you the upper hand on Too Hot.

Front to back twice. And lots of focused study on the New Testament. But not in years. I remember enough to know you’re missing the mark badly.

Lol if “slandering” is me pointing out that followers go to rallies then so be it. I’d be ashamed if I supported or followed a man as morally bankrupt as Donald Trump too so I get it.

You said you have read the Bible cover to cover twice. The Pharisees went and joined large crowds that were following and listening to Jesus speak. Does that mean they were followers of Jesus?

Sometimes, people go to hear a speaker because they are popular, and they want to know what the buzz is all about. Some people might be followers. Some people might be supporters. Some people might be relatively neutral, and they might want to take in the experience of being there. And others might be there as opposition. There are lots of reasons why someone might go to hear someone speak.
