No one is going to do anything but applaud the brother for taking these steps to prevent God knows what from happening to his sister. You triggered the libs, but not in the way you thought.

Tell that to Amy Coney Barrett. Read her dissent in Kanter v Barr. It starts on page 27 of the opinion and goes on for 30+ pages that the 2A protects a felon's right to posses firearms unless it can be shown the felon is dangerous or presents other risk markers.

I don't disagree. I'm not a fan of felons possessing firearms unless they go through a procedure similar to Florida's, an Application for Executive Clemency including restoration of the right to posses a firearm. A DOC probation officer is assigned to each applicant to make recommendations and board votes on each one.

 

Yeah no convicted felon should have their right to possess a firearm or their right to vote restored you gave up that right when you committed a felony

 

At least the violent ones or attempted violence like this one.

Some stupid stuff is felonious. The law recognizes different degrees of felony and I think violent or non-violent is a pretty good place to decide whether you can vote or own a gun.

Yes, I agree that nonviolent felons deserve to get their right to vote back after they serve their time.
