He's mixing speeds really well and just has our guys off balance. Their timing seems off and that can't square up a fastball. There's a reason he has an ERA under 3.00. And I hope we have a couple of guys warming up.
Most LHP have a good idea about pitching vs throwing. That said they work with less velocity and locate while our hitters don’t adjust and stay in pull mode like they’re facing 95+. The preferred approach for me at least is cut the plate in half (in and away) then #1 realize he can’t beat you with his fastball velocity and #2 hit it where it’s pitched.
