Momentum is a great tool in the dugout and on the field. Let’s take advantage of it Gators—stay focused and let’s roll!

Waldrep has great stuff, but needs better command. I would be happy with a solid 6 innings and under 100 pitches

Would like to win this series tonight...the announcers kept talking about us trying for a national seed and host site...so I think winning this series would definitely help us...

Sproat going a solid 6 innings and then the 7-inning run rule protected our bullpen for today. Waldrep has struggled with control all year, but especially the last 2 weeks after the NCAA forced him to change his delivery. What crap! But maybe by now he's made the adjustment and can give us a good 5-6 innings. The offense has to keep cranking, though, and we have a pretty good lefty to face today. Hopefully, the lineup watched some tape of how TAM's lefties made us look bad last weekend and will make the necessary adjustments to their approach. Go Gators.

What worked last night probably won't work tonight against this pitcher. Right hand hitters got to go with the pitch early. Pitch counts will be important for both sides. Halter and Rivera will need to produce good plays all over the field. Might we see Deric again somewhere? Even as a PH in a key moment might be big.

Puzzling as to why not a 1 or 2:00 game.

Yep, needs to hit bats more. I know that sounds weird but his stuff is good enough to force bad swings or weak contact. Like to see him work on locating fastball first time around order-keep pitches down.

I’m in agreement with well located FB’s down in the zone early in the counts.

I would like to see him command his FB better in counts with two strikes—geez, that’s how you get MLB hitters out—well located FB’s in the top side of the zone.

It’s like everybody there knows it’s going to be one of his secondary pitches coming with two strikes. I’ll say it again—the art of pitching is the ability to disrupt the timing of hitting….

We are 16-9 now! Lazy SEC website hasn’t updated last night’s results! Vanderbilt now 17-8. Arkansas is 18-7 and LSU 17-7.

Yes- especially against LHP. Stay with the hat hand and Halter had two very poor ABs when the game was still close that could have been costly.

Weather report is not encouraging from NWS:
...New UPDATE......STRONG STORMS POSSIBLE FOR INLAND LOCATIONS SOUTH OF I-10 THIS AFTERNOON... 60 percent but with lightning in the area- hope they're wrong. Last night heavy rain began around 9pm accompanied by a fair amount of lightning in NW Gainesville- looks to be an earlier event today.

Really would like to see Fabian be given a couple games at third. Halter had one at bat yesterday where he had three swings and misses. No doubt he’s in a slump hitting .239 overall but .213 in conference play. Fabian is now batting .293 overall and yesterday was his first opportunity in conference play. Defensively Halter is generally solid but even he has booted his fair share of balls lately. And I say this not to criticize Halter so much as to point out that Sully was reluctant to replace Ty Evans and his 0.078 batting average in conference play with Shellnut who has added another bat to the bottom of the lineup with his .330 and .342 averages. Seems to make sense. Let’s give it a try before postseason.

I got to think Neely is just chomping at the bit to get back out there after how it ended on Sunday. I'm believing he comes thru with a solid finish today if needed. Waldrep has twice as many strikeouts as Futrell but both pitchers have given up the same amount of extra base hits. Both of these pitchers have the most homeruns given up on their teams, partly because they have pitched the most innings, but look for either team to go yard with any mistakes. The Gators have hit 40 more homeruns than the Vandy boys. As usual, if Waldrep can get ahead in the count and control his sinker, he will either get plenty of strikeouts or the infield will field a lot of ground balls.

Again, just do not get why we don’t play at one or 2 o’clock game occasionally on Saturdays???
