Here's the video recap if anyone wants to see all the highlights in one place. Not many of them are for Vanderbilt though.:D

Naw. Coach O'Sullivan just played a hunch that Deric Fabian was due for a big night.

You could not script it better- a huge win at a key moment in the season. Sproat outstanding despite puzzling moving strike zone from blue- I sense that some umpires at this level are a bit baffled by pitches that run as much as Sproat's. The SEC TV guys --who overall did an ok job calling the game -- commented on Sproat's pitch movement which runs as wide as the plate.
That said- Gators timely hitting was great and Fabian- after sitting forever- came through big time. With Vandy likey throwing two LHPs and if Josh is ready to play tomorrow, why not consider playing Fabian at 3rd. Halter had several poor at bats tonight so if Sully wants to go with the hot hand- why not? Playing Shelnut in RF has paid dividends so why not give Deric a shot at the 3rd. Just a thought.

Yep, Fabian at third. Love Halter but not hitting right now.

I drove home last night asking myself does Deric get another start. If Josh is good then he gets SS of course, So why not third? Halter is a team leader of sorts and often comes to the mound with BT. I will say Halter hits LHP better so that's another plus for him. Heyman and Kurland both had good nights at the plate. So the only place Deric could play is at third. Doubtful Sully makes the change but I'd stand and applaud if he does.

Deric definitely had a good game last night—proud for any Gator player that gets that opportunity and does well.

    Lineups, well that’s Sully’s job.

    Agreed.

For a long time I was thinking that Heyman and Riopelle should have switched slots in the line-up but maybe Sully wanted a R-L-R-L-R with Langford, Cags, Rivera, Riopelle and Heyman so that in late innings with those guys coming up a sidearm specialist wouldn't get two favorable batters in a row.

But if that was true why didn't Heyman take Rivera's spot yesterday with Riopelle staying in the 5 hole?

    I am probably missing something.

Like you say the line-up is Sully's job.
