Yeah, given his current role, she is. This is essentially him undoing some of the damage he already did to the company and trying to claim it as a win. He had a really good ad sales person that he inherited but got rid of early on (to disastrous, if entirely predictable consequences). Now he is adding somebody who is relatively respected in that world as well. The issue is that only brings them back to the issue when he bought it: they couldn't profitably run the company on ad sales due to the lack of great targeting data, the, by design, very limited amount of creative content options, and the less attractive user base (made slightly less attractive now).

As I said, I suspect that this is a function of some of his investors nervously looking at the billions of dollars they dumped into this and trying to figure out how they ever get even their initial investment back.

To me the more important thing is for Musk to extract himself from the political/culture war crap that is hurting his image directly and his other brands indirectly such as Tesla and SpaceX indirectly. However I am skeptical he has the self control to do that.

Yeah, Elon. Shut up and dribble. Can your free speech so that you can focus and become even richer, because after all, you don’t have enough money as it is. Oh yeh, once you do become even richer, we’re going to create a special tax on those billions. Get off Twitter and get to work, you asshole!

Great tweet reply by Mandy Patinkin, who would know. And Elon comparing himself to one of my favorite characters of all time is even more offensive that usual. But I think he may be admitting that he wants to kill Twitter in the cause of revenge more than anything else

His latest hits include that he thinks it's B.S. that the Texas mass shooter was a white supremacist, and he thinks George Soros "hates humanity" and "wants to erode the very fabric of civilization."

Soros reportedly sold his Tesla stock recently, so that could be part of it. But seems consistent with Elon's overall transition. The guy has been sucked into a world of resentment and conspiracy theories.

In the course of just a couple of years, he's gone from a man determined to make humanity a multi-planetary species in order to help carry the light of consciousness - to a guy dedicated to his freedom in mindlessly advocating easily disproven conspiracy theories.

Yeah, this is a fake AOC account that Musk is pumping. Not sure your point of posting it, unless it's to show how Musk is running twitter relevancy into the ground.

Thanks to all that guvment (our tax dollars) money he took for his companies and the fact that Bezos lost half of his to his ex in divorce. All the centi-billionaires will get by one way or the other.

Wonder if it is to create a new Tesla consumer who previously viewed EV’s as un-American..

Yeah - could be. Not sure if the math works, but I'm no advertising guru. Cater to the 30% but turn off the rest? How many will no longer consider Tesla v how many of that 30% will now consider a tesla. Seems like that's tough math to make work for him, but again - I don't know...

Right? Alienate your customer base who finds intrinsic value in your product so you can try to woo a smaller market of customers that has been conditioned to despise and ridicule any energy source that doesn’t burn oil. I don’t buy it. He is just a whacko.

I agree with that. Tesla was pretty much the only game in town for 10 years, but that's over. Not sure what he's thinking to openly mock half the country -- that half that actually liked his cars, at that. I guess when you are the richest guy on the planet, consequences don't matter. Even if it gets bad for him, he could easily sell Telsa ...

On another thread I said I don’t care what food people believe and f they serve good food. I am still a fan of Elon he has revolutionized space flight and he has transformed the automotive market. His boring company is interesting and his solar work and battery storage are game changing. Being an excellent engineer and manager of engineers doesn’t mean he is brilliant at other things. I wish he would learn that and stop wasting time on Twitter. But do you know what? It’s none of my business how he spends his time. I am buying a new vehicle in about 2 years. I will be considering a Tesla or a ford lightning. We shall see how things look when I am ready to buy.

She only got 25% of their jointly held stock. That was all she wanted.
