I don’t understand how this isn’t bringing TH together in a rare moment of solidarity.

    1) Twitter was a shithole at its best. Pre-Elon they were “moderating” by banning scum like Richard Spencer, temporarily, for technicalities, instead of being scum.
    2) They banned Trump. The HORROR!!
    3) Elon paid $44B to turn it into Rumble.
    4) Mission accomplished. It’s Rumble+, and fading by the minute.

Who gives a shit that a billionaire who won’t feel it ran this clock out at SpaceX speed?

I say good riddance. Thanks Elon, really took one for the team here.

Lol... if the Left are unable to spew propaganda they call it censorship? In a perfect world this is not even news.

But when the Leftists didn't like the Pub's information... that was dangerous and prison worthy. In fact the Right was nearly completely shut down by the communist on the Left when they ran Twitter.

My how the tables have turned.

Notice the difference… left wingers are simply ranting or leaving the format. Right wingers wanted a federal institution to take on twitter for the way they privately operate. Twitter is finding out no one wants to play in a world created by right wingers. It sucks.

Elon paid $44B for a social community and turned it into a $0B steaming pile of right wing nuttery. Oh well.

So now he is having to randomly hand back check marks to high follower accounts, apparently because when they didn't have them, a huge group of people started blocking everybody who has one. This has led many of the high follower accounts to post how they didn't buy this and randomly received it back. Because nothing is good marketing like handing out a product for free and then having all the people who received it say they didn't want it to as many people as possible.

Also, he apparently spent the day having somebody manually re-add the blue check mark to dril's account (a popular troll/comedy account) as the guy continually removed it by changing his name.

So yeah, all of this seems to be going very well.

The funny part is that Musk's narcissism is making him think that it is because "the media" hates him. That is nonsense (it isn't the media that is causing his customers to reject this). Rather, the issue is the fact that he and his team did such an awful job at rolling this out. The pricing idea itself isn't awful. He just implemented it in such an awful way that it is all melting down, where he is literally giving the product away to people who don't want it because it has become such a toxic signal and then demanding that other people pay for it.

Meta handled it in a much smarter manner. They are rolling it out with a test and adjusting to customer feedback (without the technological meltdowns that have accompanied this). They are framing it as a positive functional addition to your account, rather than as some sort of bizarre attempt to gain social acceptance while bashing their heaviest content creators.

Meta is showing that the idea isn't an off-the-wall idea, just that Musk failed miserably in implementation.

Elon has been exposed as a right wing activist. His purchase of Twitter was financed by the Saudis or Putin. Forces in concert that don't like people having a real time BS detector on their phones. Only Trump fans were looking for Twitter but with more Nazi and pro-Russia posts.

Pretty soon Tribel or BlueSky will be ready and Twitter will be left to sink like Gab or Truth Social.

Rumor is that he is hiring Linda Yaccarino, an ad sales person who is currently at NBCUniversal. She is a smart pick in that advertisers love her. It seems like Musk finally decided that there is no way he is going to make money without ads being a huge part of it. I expect either they have an agreement on content (where some of the stuff advertisers don't want will go back to being limited in some way) or there will be substantial clashes on content coming soon.

Who is Linda Yaccarino, reportedly Twitter's next CEO? | CNN Business

This woman was a Trump appointee and follows tons of QaNon level wackos on Twitter. This is proof positive of what Musk's purchase was all about as if we needed more.

He wasn't going to get somebody not willing to suck up to him (he is a narcissist). But she actually is a reasonably experienced ad person with a non-ridiculous resume. At the very minimum, he is trying to reassure his investors. But I see no reason to bring her on unless he is basically backing off of his strategy, such as it could even be called a strategy, and basically just switching Twitter back to an ad driven revenue model. She would be less than useless at running a non-ad related tech company.

Unless she reverses his, "Nazis on Twitter, yes!" policies, she's just a sycophant.

Might be more like proof of who was willing to hop on that burning boat with him.
