No. First, don't act out in a manner that would allow up to 18 women to make sexual assault allegations against you. Do that, and the chances of being sued go down dramatically in the first place!

But if you are a defendant in the case like this, don't make statements like, "She's not my type." Don't say you never met her. Don't say on tape that if you are famous, you can "grab them by the pussy," and then defend said statement in a deposition.

Sure, all this had to happen before the case was filed. But it goes to the best way to win a criminal case against you will always be, don't commit the crime!

No. But when the defense is that you have never met, and you clearly have, it doesn't help your credibility as the jury provides weights to your relative truthfulness.

I mean, the standard defendant probably doesn't have themselves on tape saying that they do exactly what they are accused of doing. And then, upon being deposed, states not only defends those comments but confirms his continued belief in them.

But yes, sexual assault investigations are largely circumstantial. The jury found it believable likely because:
    1. Trump admits to grabbing women without consent on tape.
    2. Trump defends and confirms his beliefs that he is allowed to grab women.
    3. His claim that they never met is obviously false.
    4. She was able to provide witnesses to whom she confided at the time.
    5. Her attorneys can provide multiple other women who report him doing what he bragged about doing without their consent.

Based on these 5 factors, the jury appears to believe her more than him.

but isn't Trump the most honest man in the history of the world? ( or at least the last million years?).

Trump supporters are in shambles in here, doing their best to defend this rapist/sexual assaulter. Par for the course for that contingent.

Have you, who claims not to be defending Trump;), not considered that, in fact, he had no defense?.

So far everyone agrees there was no defense possible in this case. Everything anyone has mentioned occurred prior to trial and was allowed to be presented. The low burden in a civil trial was easy to meet in this case. And for the ignorant posters nobody is here defending Trump.

I agree with others who said HE didn't have a defense. If someone like an ex-coworker or employee accused me I'd have a hell of a defense trotting out a long line of other co-workers and friends to vouch for my character.

For Trump to try to do the same would have been laughable since no one would believe them given everything we know about his character.

Regardless, it still comes down to if this was all made up, 5 different people would have had to commit perjury.

There are only two people in the world who know the truth, but odds are from what was presented at trial - he did it.

Well, in the typical "he said, she said" it helps to have a "he said." It really helps to have a credible "he said." Add in bonus points for a likeable "he said." In this situation, the later two were impossibilities, which is probably why you didn't have the first.

I hope you learn to diversify your resources. Reuters, WSJ, AP, are not corrupt. We need to stop feeding into the emotion and use our intelligence. Sounds like you are deeply immersed in inflammatory misinformation intended to divide. Best wishes

Just addressing the most absurd of your allegations, specifically the reason NY enacted the Sexual Survivors Act. This is much more likely the impetus behind the statute than Trump's attack of E. Jean Carroll.

If you prevail in a defamation case and the defendant keeps defaming you, can you just keep suing them!?

You’re quoting a poster who proudly admitted to getting all of his information from Tucker Carlson, which explains a lot

If a football player from Alabama, Florida State, Georgia, LSU etc had 18 sexual assault allegations against them, those same posters defending Trump would be crying about how corrupt those administrations and coaching staffs are for covering up for athletes. These people have no integrity.
