The pundits won't respect us until we earn it. Play football, recruit, work the portal, and coach em up.
I don’t know how much of that spread is attributable to it being a road game. But Utah lost some serious pieces. And Rising will likely be rusty at best. No guarantee he’ll even be back yet.
Yeah, we were late to the party when they scooped that transfer QB up... Still wondering what happened there. I think we're going to be much better on defense and that has been the difference even though our offense has choked-up some free points to them in the last two times we've played them. If we can keep from turning the ball over I feel okay with who we have, but we will upgrade before the season starts... me thinks. The reason why we've lost to them is turnovers and bad defense. And it's not like they've beat us because they were a superior talented team. We still have better skill players overall than they do, IMHO. However, we need to get our QBs up to speed and maybe even get a graduate, one and done, portal QB before the season starts just in case. I would also get an under the radar QB along with Lagway from the 2024 recruiting class. There's one in Texas that I have an eye on... 6'7" tall and he reminds me of taller, faster, Kyle Trask with accuracy speed/spin on the ball. He is totally under the radar and would compliment Lagway perfectly.
I agree. I just don't get all the love for them this year. I realize they have their qb back and their schedule sucks, but the teams they beat in 2022 had a combined record of 48-51. And against arguably the worst defense in Gator history, it came down to the last possession--in their ball park.
Big difference than the current point spreads. If you believe the FPI you should get the farm I’m in between. Spreads way too large but we shouldn’t be a favorite in at least 2 of the games FPI likes us.
I remember the TE that killed us was Kuithe, he had like7 or 8 receptions. I believe he got injured sometime after our game, but at the beginning of the season and missed most of it.
Top five opposing quarterbacks on Florida's 2023 schedule 3. Devin Leary, Kentucky, Sept. 30 in Lexington (Photo: UK Athletics ) Needing to replace Will Levis, the Wildcats added N.C. State transfer quarterback Devin Leary to the roster in the offseason, and he's expected to hold down the job heading into the 2023 season. He's a competent and experienced quarterback, and it wouldn't be a surprise to see him finish his first season in the SEC with a more impressive completion percentage and a greater statistical output than that of Levis. Leary will lead the Wildcats' offense on Sept. 30 against the Gators in Lexington, where Mark Stoops' team will look to make it two in a row over the Gators. https://247sports.com/college/flori...erbacks-Jayden-Daniels-Carson-Beck-210069984/
I put the 90.4% wining vs Vandy as the most important game this year. Losing to freaking Vandy, for God’s sake….oh wait…
FWIW...the author of the article saying there is an 82.2% chance that the Gators win 6 games could easily be misunderstood. There is an 82.2% chance that the Gators win 6 or more games. I could be splitting hairs, but a little clarity is helpful so people don't run with that and think the Gators are destined for a 6 win season.
True. I prefer this metric but it is also the most optimistic for the Gators out there. Others (for example Vegas lines) paint a far more gloomy picture
Top five opposing running backs the Gators face in 2023 4. Ray Davis, Kentucky, Sept. 30 in Lexington (Photo: UK Athletics ) Ray Davis' transfer to Kentucky from Vanderbilt should give the Wildcats a new starting running back this season after Davis tallied a whopping 1,042 rushing yards on 232 carries from scrimmage. https://247sports.com/college/flori...-preseason-predictions-gators-runn-210255199/
