He wasn't only sued for rape, he was also sued for defamation.

Also, not sure what evidence was shown, but I think it's more than possible that a reasonable jury would have found by a preponderance of the evidence that he offensively or harmfully touched her, but not necessarily raped her. I'd like to see Trump's deposition testimony honestly, I haven't followed the case enough to know what evidence was shown.

And that's a very different job.

Captain Chivalry and Family Man of the Year went out the window as a necessary credential when Bill Clinton was President.

The problem with this logic is that it assumes there is something in these cases we are missing. If you're talking about the Stormy Daniels case, I think everybody knows Trump paid off Stormy Daniels via Michael Cohen. Everyone knows the facts, and has known the facts since 2016/2017. The question is just regarding legal implications and fallout.

My assumption is that rape under the NY statute requires penetration. In essence the jury probably found that Trump grabbed her by the body part that he referenced in the Entertainment Tonight video. While not rape, I wouldn't exactly consider that a trivial act.

Although he apparently tried to do so.

Yep, you are voluntarily voting for a guy that you know committed sexual abuse. And excusing it away as if it is just some minor issue. Bet you never thought you would be in that situation, huh?

Not an original thought, but putting aside issues and fights about our judiciary and judges, particularly at the appellate levels - it's notable how poorly Trump has done in our courts.

I think he won what - 1 out of 60-something cases that were election related? He lost several on the privilege assertion cases if I recall. He lost this civil case with a jury deliberation of a couple hours. Not sure I'd count the grand jury proceeding, but that apparently didn't go well for his team (through not fault of theirs probably). He did get a judgment against Stormy while almost certainly lying, but I think her case was an uphill battle as a matter of law, and we now know how sketchy and fame-hungry her lawyer was.

As imperfect as they are, our courts are one place where charm, threats, arrogance, and lying don't always win - at least when there's competent counsel and resources on the other side. Trump was so used to being able to bully people with litigation and threats of litigation that it has to be a strange turn of events for him. He still behaves as if he's a rich developer pushing around subcontractors in state court.

You lawyers can correct me if I am wrong but he sure doesn’t appear to have a knack for hiring great legal counsel.

But how did they prove that he even did that? They didn't. He'll appeal this and this will most like get over turned

    "Probably found" is speculation.

If he grabbed her by that body part without her consent, no it would not be a trivial act but that's her allegation, not necessarily what happened. It also could've been pushing her into the dressing room and making generic sexual advances on her.

Off topic, deflecting to "Dollar Bill" does not change the subject or shield Trump. For the record, I deplore unsavory liars from any party or ideological bent.

Trump happens to be in a category of "ROTTEN" that will reflect on his legacy......... FOREVER.

He just attempted to rape her but had to settle for sexual abuse is your defense?

    Tried, came up short ;)

But everyone is missing the obvs truth Q. EC clearly was infatuated with Trump and was rebuked. EC then laid the groundwork for the long con retribution, by calling a few friends and sewing seeds.

Thurty years later, it was time! Vindicated!

I mean otherwise, Trump is a serial pos that has conned millions. Ymmv

We'd have to see what evidence was shown.

And in a case like this, with Trump's mouth, a bunch of it was probably things he said.

You closely followed the testimony in the case? Can you give us your summary of all of the key witnesses that testified?

Disagree that the verdict will be overturned although he will certainly appeal probably on the basis that the testimony of the women who were victims of similar assaults by Trump as well as that of her friends with whom she confided after the attack should not have been admitted.
