I agree. He wasn't guilty of Rape but somehow, he was liable with No witnesses. I'm not claiming he's innocent but he in no way guilty either, he should appeal it. Most reasonable people would agree with this, whether you like him or not. I don't this being a real factor at all.

Not so sure that's true. Dems & certainly inds CANNOT be excited by the Tripe that the party is putting up. turnout could drop significantly. I think dems are overconfident, arrogant & apparently learned nothing from 2016.

I dunno. Charlie Sykes was talking about this yesterday. There are significant numbers of people who say Trump should be charged over various things but plan to vote for him anyway. We'll see if this is different since it's sexual assault, but I suspect people who support Trump will say the lawsuit was rigged against him and there was no way for him to possibly disprove that something didn't happen - decades ago, no less. If they can believe made up things about vote counts, this could be even easier to rationalize.

Personally, I doubt it's going to move the primary numbers. If Trump gets the nomination, anything is possible. Biden is not popular either, and if it comes down to it, I doubt that many Republicans are going to stay home.

Let’s see where we are in a year after he is likely convicted in Georgia and NY. But even if he isn’t, I wasn’t saying 20 percent will fall away, but even 1 percent against a map he already lost in 2020 is massive.
To @docspor ‘s point about turnout, this steady drumbeat is as likely to depress Republican turnout as dem turnout.
And Trump is the dem’s version of Hillary, if he’s on the ballot directly or indirectly. they have shown up big the last 3 times. Heck they voted for a dude who should have been in an assisted living facility over a Trump guy in PA.
But yeah, at some point it becomes a war of attrition, the deciders will likely be the non-Trump pubs and how ready they are to pull the lever for him again with their noses held. It’s certainly possible that the Dems finally crack and stay home, I just don't see it as long as he’s around. Maybe I’ll be proven wrong.

Given the realignment around college educated voters, low turnout is the Democrat's friend now, its a brave new world

Don't forget the Alito torpedo effect on the one hand (abortion), and blatant suppression on the other

I'm not sure I would go that far yet (given the age split), but it isn't the enemy like it used to be. Part of what people got wrong about 2022.

The main problem is that Trump draws out unreliable voters (who are the least likely to abandon him), so its tough, yeah. DeSantis or Haley dont draw those people.

    I don't think this changes anyone's mind.

He was basically found guilty for lying about her, damaging her reputation, and offensively or harmfully touching her, not necessarily raping her.

In light of Trump's comments in the past about women, should this really surprise anybody? Nobody should be nominating Trump for the old "Family Man of the Year" award, nor should they be nominating him for "Captain Chivalry."

Anyone ever seen the movie "Rainman"?
Does this remind you of anyone ?? -

Like a bad slot machine, it (He) never pays off.............

I have no doubt that Trumps campaign supporters will pay for another of his uncountable indescretions.

I want to get Ivanka on truth serum and ask her if anyone was "creepin" at her bedroom door.

And may even increase his margin over DeSantis in the Republican presidential primary polls.
