I can't speak for other posters but I get the sense that the stars are aligning in Ukraines favor. Clearly Wagner and the Russian military are somewhat at odds. Bakmut and essentially the entire front line still holds since the Russian offensive of later Feb. early March. NATO equipment is rolling in. 6 armored brigades are reportedly at 95% / ready to go. USA support seems like it will be solid, at least until the end of 2024. Russians are sending 1948 "stock" tanks into battle. It seems Ukraine is "hitting" Russian ammo / fuel / logistics centers. Ukraine has made a small crossing of the Dnieper River and Russians are evacuating parts of Crimea. Putin is blaming NATO and US for the "Police Action". LMAO My reading of the smoke signals is that when Ukraine makes the big offensive "push" it may have devastating consequences for the Russian situation.

The Brits think that Russian casualties are "worse than anyone thinks". He thinks the west's way of estimating casualties has some faulty assumptions built in to it. Ukraine has something like 10,000 drone operators, directing artillery fire and attacking the enemy. The author has a point--Ukraine's drones are watching the battle from above (I had no idea they had THAT MANY drones), and they would likely have a better idea of the damage being done than someone getting reports from a distance. f-16's would be hard pressed to defeat ground based missile defense systems but the long range guided bombs Moscow is using are something that Uk cannot defend against without something capable of taking down the SU 23 platforms being used to launch them. the switch to long range precision guided bombs seemed to begin shortly after Xi visit and are a real problem for Ukraine right now.
I agree they are not a cure all. However I still think the F16s would complement Ukraines position, obviously the F16s would have to be deployed in resonable circumstances.
One thing for sure, this conflict will re-write the textbooks on industrialized, technological warfare. My impression is that NATO / Ukraine is proving the efficacy of advanced weapons systems. And this is true with NATO seemingly keeping one arm of its true weapon systems capability tied behind its back.
It is truly mind boggling to think of the full complement of US / NATO capabilities that could be brought to bear in a full out conflict. And I'm just talking conventional systems, not nuclear weapons.
