Gamble... perfect name for what he did to his football career. He could have played for the Gators had he just stayed.

The one thing that bothered me was losing good players in the middle of the season. Players that we needed for depth.

But now... that over with, and it's way past time to move on.

    I already have moved on.

Man, that wasn't a good group to talk regrets. Not that they had the same mojo at the new destination as they had at UF and with Mullen (mainly), it just goes to show there are a LOT of moving parts to evaluating players and how they evolve once out of HS.

The one I checked more from the article was Carlos Del Rio-Wilson. He started one game for Syracuse (then 6-3). It was against a then 5-4 Pittsburgh team (away). They lost 19-9. He went 8 of 23 (35 percent) for 120 yards, no TDs or ints, and was sacked 6 times. He also had 14 rushes for 7 yards (no, that is not a reverse of the numbers typo) with a long run of 15 yards. Now, perhaps he had a much better time in spring and is better prepared for the future. But, given what we had as Option B at the QB situation in our bowl game, it does not appear as if we had much after the Kitna loss. But that is also what I saw in the 2022 spring game from CDW. Kind of like what I saw from Brown in this year's spring game. His real playing time is in the future.

We just have to recognize that this next season is going to be "sobering" again. It is what it is.

I'm not privy to everything but the Copeland transfer surprised me. He and AR seemed to have great chemistry on the field. I was excepting a breakout year for him and instead he went to Maryland and didn't do squat.

The Copeland transfer was strange to me as well. Must be something we are not privy to. Or just someone in his ear that was ill informed.

Billy G may have kept him at UF. They seemingly still have a great relationship and remain on contact with each other

He was always going to social media, and seeing like he was unhappy with how many throws came to him and stuff like that. He probably needed to move on to figure out. He’s not as good as he thought he was.

  8. The only one that really surprised me was Jacob Copeland. I was rooting for the hometown kid. He probably would have been a late draft pick if he had stayed at Florida. I

I take it on faith. With a transition, those who need to leave will leave. Those who stay are GATORS.

I have to believe that many of Mullen's players were still talking to the assistant coaches that were fired and never found new jobs. Napier mentions the problem in the team cohesiveness. Translation: Locker room problems. I disliked all but one assistant coach on that last Mullen team.

Hopper hurt the most, but he wanted to play with his brother. Diabate was a surprise as well, but I think Burney did well in his place. Copeland staying would’ve made perfect sense, but dude may have been forced out based on attitude.
