I said Libbies Davis, not teachers. My apologies though, I can see that I wasn’t specific enough.

I will agree with you about by and large teachers care very much. I know my wife and daughter does. But I would say from conversation and observation at social events that there are 1-2 teachers on each of there teams that are more union oriented than caring about how well they do their job. One has five person team and one has six. My wife is a team lead. It’s a good thing that both of their principals have their eye on the ball or 16-20% of the kids would be getting a total shit education. My daughters first principal didn’t have their eye on the ball and allowed a bad culture to set in across the faculty. My daughter stayed there one year.

Would you not agree with me that Democrats have been professing support for education for decades but seem to forget their promises until it’s time to promise again? Hell, it took until 2019 and the hated Ron DeSantis to bring a large increase to starting pay. One thing that I will not budge on is that unions need to be eliminated from the teaching profession. They simultaneously hold down the compensation for great teachers while propping up compensation and the jobs themselves for the mediocre and poor teachers.

But the democrats coming in, getting what they want and leave without even giving the teachers a kiss.

People are "truly" fearful and fed up with it. The state is threatening severe punishment if you violate their vague, idiotic laws.

Do you know who has been running this state for the past 20 years? It hasn't been Democrats.

And in that 20 years the only time that teachers got a meaningful starting pay raise was from DeSantis. You can blubber and bluster all you want but you can’t deny that every election the democrats tell the teachers how mean their boyfriend is, get their rocks off, leave without a kiss, and disappear for about 14 months until the next campaign season. Honestly, it these people are truly “fearful” then they are the ones with the problem. I do know that I will never get you to admit this because as a lawyer it is your dutiful duty to protect the moat of the ambulance chasers and their “victims”.

Maybe you didn’t bring them up but you have damn sure referenced them in at least two posts in this thread.

BTW, what is a “traditional” white person anyway?

Uh, try again :"It ranked 48th in the 2020-21 school year, giving teachers an average of $51,009. The state is estimated to continue to rank 48th for the 2021-22 school year, according to Staci Maiers, an NEA spokesperson.Sep 24, 2022" PS It's not just about starting pay, is it?

Which isn't really true. Massachusetts is the top state for education. But that U.S. News ranking hinges heavily on our university system. And to the credit of past Republican governors, they did prioritize it. DeSantis has instead waged war on it and is doing significant damage to it.

I defined it earlier as lunatic bigots understanding the tribe he was referencing. Obviously most most white people (like myself) aren’t lunatic bigots.

Go back into your hatehole. You can’t even give the man credit for giving out teachers the only the ONLY meaningful pay raise in decades so you go to the comparisons. Well De Santis has admitted there is much more to be done. That does not take away from the fact that he is the ONLY one to do ANYTHING.

Let me ask you something; I know the democrats show up every election, abuse you for a while and then disappear without even a kiss, but do they at least use a little KY so you’re not sore once you realize their gone?

You'll never get me to admit it because you're ignorant and your point is clownish. Democrats aren't winning statewide elections. They're campaigning on issues and losing. When those issues aren't fixed, they continue to campaign on them. You can question the wisdom of the strategy. The Florida Democratic Party are incompetent morons. But they can't fix a problem when they aren't being elected.

So if you want to talk about teachers being wronged by not receiving pay raises for 20 years, you're barking up the wrong tree. You can blubber and bluster all you want, but facts don't care about your feelings. The Republicans have controlled the governor's mansion since 1999.

And yet, the people who are hyper-focused on the LGBTQ community, keep them constantly in the news, and are focusing all sorts of government resources on persecuting them are right-wing Republicans. Imagine what Florida could be if y'all focused your energy on fixing actual issues and not on being bigoted pieces of garbage.

That’s a little closed minded for a supposedly open minded liberal, isn’t it?

We’re not running the risk of pots calling kettles black here are we? Your sentiments towards these “traditional” white people sounds eerily similar to things a bigot would say about some group that they also erroneously consider themselves superior to.

You are really on a roll today. Comparing a fringe group of teachers imaginary fears to millions of Nazi victims and now this.

Since you either didn’t pay attention in history classes or you were taught by a “traditional white” teacher, or a union protected lefty; go look up and read some of Eisenhower’s letters to Marshall, look at some of photos and get to us on how you feel about real victims. Here is a good start for you:

So NO ONE does anything for over 20 years( I don’t even think Chiles did anything for teachers). Some one comes along and FINALLY DOES SOMETHING for at LEAST SOME teachers and you can’t give him any credit?

I suppose by your illogic, if one of your students starts to apply themselves and raises their grade from a D to a high B, they get no credit because they didn’t get it to an A.

Why would she give him credit when he has offset any pay raises (no matter how significant or minor they may be) by championing a bunch of laws that have made teachers' lives far, far worse? "Yes, I punched you in the face. Before I did that, I gave you $5. Give me credit for making things better for you!"
