Madison Shipman just made a great point that I've made a few times this year. UF's fielding is down from years past, but part of that is because more balls are being put in play this year and many are hard hit balls that are hard to handle. Strikeouts are over 100 less this year through the same number of games as last year. So, although the defensive numbers are down it all comes back to pitching issues primarily.
Just for giggles I looked at the NCAA softball stats last night. Oklahomas top three pitchers are between 0.50 and 1.0 in era for the season. Our top three pitchers are all around 3.0 for the season and each over 6.0 in conference play. No need to look any further.
Bottom of the order coming through. Kistler, Goelz, Falby. Now the top of the order needs to give us the lead.
