Louisiana #50. I guess corn dogs don't help your rating much.

I thought Alaska was #50. My son and daughter-in-law are moving there and they couldn’t be more excited.

Idaho is a terrible state populated with white supremacists and militia nuts.

maybe that is why I love it so much up there. bought a tract of land in the Kenai near Coopers Landing last year to spend summers at when I retire. the mix of people runs the gamut but they all pretty much leave you alone and will do anything to help you if you are in need. they don't care what you look like, how you dress, or how much money you have, just are you a good person, or at least that has been my experience visiting for the last 20+ years.

it's all about the criteria. low tuition, bright futures and prepaid plans give Florida lots of points. number of degreed residents also gives big boost even if a lot of those degreed individuals are retired from elsewhere

Now... do how many of these cities are run by Pubs and how many are run by Dems...

If you drive due east from Coopers Landing to the coast of Cook Inlet, that's the shores where the salmon boats I worked on were; many moons ago. Absolutley beautiful place.

And yeah, rugged individualism at its finest, but its likes a weird collective of good people willing to work together to live there

That’s just not fair. There is a very small minority of outspoken whackos in remote Idaho. But there’s also great areas. Boise is very cool, and the areas near Jackson Hole, WY is breathtaking (not to mention incredibly expensive). Idaho.

So. #4……. Has anyone been to Nebraska? I have for work maybe 4 or 5 times for a day or two each time - mostly to Omaha and Sioux City Iowa.. which both are on the border Iowa/Nebraska. Doesnt seem to me as good or bad. Hard to get to. Flat. Cheap. It’s far from other places. Floored it is #4.

I’m slightly fascinated by Nebraska myself. Omaha is seriously underrated as a city.
