Although it's very unlikely that this is what he had in mind, the argument against male to female transgendered persons participating in women's sports is that male's have a physical genetic advantage over females. Implicit in the original post is the proposition that genetic males also have an intellectual advantage over females since poker is not a sport in which physical ability matters but is a game in which intellect and skill are determining factors.

being transparent, I’m not a gambler so poker and Vegas etc have never really interested me. I find it interesting that very few female poker players make it very far in poker tournaments but I won’t pretend to know why. It would also never occur to me to go to anything that is women only, or ladies only as I’ve always thought it was good for people to have different interests. And as another poster said, maybe some women don’t want to be around any dudes while they play cards. That seems
Reasonable to me and if that is offered then go enjoy yourself ladies.

From what I read, NOT a trans issue. At issue is a state law that precludes limiting entries to one sex.

Someone simply being a dick hasn’t really ever moved the needle….it’s just made everyone say “he’s simply being a dick”.

You're going to form a broad conclusion about a whole group on the opinions of just one member? I find that deplorable and unjustified.

Defend your assertion that transgenderism is a mental disorder.

I’m sorry if I offended you. I fully support your right to cut off your junk, get DD implants and go by the name Sherri or whatever. However in the same breath I think your whack for doing so.

Great point. On a thread that's not about trans, "Look! I found a trans acting badly!"

Such intolerance for that which you don't understand.

Here is a link that may educate you.

Gender dysphoria Information | Mount Sinai - New York

I want to note that those that suffer from gender dysphoria and have reassignment surgery see improvements in their mental health, quality of life, and overall well-being. Are they still whack for doing it?

Also, the suicide rates for gender dysphoria sufferers is an order of magnitude greater than cisgenders, likely due to intolerance in our community and heath care. The rate is significantly lower after the surgery. Are they still whack for doing it?

I understand perfectly. Someone who suffers from gender dysmorphia undergoes significant psychological evaluation and as a last resort to make themselves feel better undergoes a medical procedure to become someone else. Yes. That's whack but hey it's their junk so whatever floats their boat.

Okay... to summarize. You think that if a person is properly diagnosed with a medical condition and there's a treatment that improves quality of life and diminishes risks of suicide, they are whack for doing it. Would it not be the opposite? Wouldn't it be ill advised not to pursue the treatment?

BTW... I can understand that a cisgender may find it hard to comprehend undergoing drastic procedure like this, but being dismissive helps no one and hurts those that are suffering. I choose support and compassion in the face of a condition that is outside of my personal experience or understanding.

I haven't met Caitlyn Jenner or Blaire White, but they're out there - sort of akin to the Log Cabin Republicans. I can disagree with their politics while still supporting their LGBT rights.
