Every time Im away from net a few minutes a new report today..lol Heres one just popped up , seeming to implicate him in gambling...but no specifics still Brad Bohannon, former Alabama baseball coach, reportedly connected to gambling investigation (saturdaydownsouth.com) Im still just curious to the thinking behind the wagers.. What convinced them to wager after the pitching change as oppossed to before? Were they that worried they were going to beat Skenes before change?? lol
Its getting clearer,, as far as Bo involvement.. Still just stupidity at play IMo.. Make the wager night before, probably attract zero attention.. Who was pitching for Bama made zero difference.
If not the only time is true.. All Bama games should be no contest & all stats removed etc. And also makes the stupidity of how this was done even more astounding.
Dont think he was bettor, just in communication w/ bettor in a casino, knowing cameras everywhere..so just as stupid None of it still makes much sense to me.. the wager, the way it was done, none of it..lol
I’m sure this is an "isolated incident" and there is no need to worry about a bigger problem.. Just kidding..games are totally being fixed.
Not sure this rates as any worse than the rampant purchasing of players at Bama over the last 15-20 years. When you run a ethically bankrupt athletic department you shouldn't be surprised when one of your employees try to take personal advantage of it.
Bohannon was communicating with the bettor. Report: Former Alabama Baseball Coach Brad Bohannon Contacted Ex-HS Coach to Make Bet — Bleacher Report Former Alabama baseball coach Brad Bohannon was relaying information to a former high school baseball coach who placed "suspicious" wagers on the LSU Tigers to defeat the Crimson Tide before a game on April 28, according to Darren Rovell of the Action Network.
I told someone other day,, you know this just all but guarantees a little Bama run rest of way. Probably end up hosting before all said & done..lol Also not out of possibility all the wins prior to this week are vacated. But Im sure that wont come for a couple years..lol
Nope. Cleveland State will get an extra year of probation. Oh, wait. That is when the NCAA is mad at UK in basketball. Tarkanian was a really funny guy. Here is the actual quote: "The NCAA is so mad at Kentucky they're going to give Cleveland State another year of probation."
How do you know?? I dont think Rose cheated either. You can bet on or against your team, and not do anything to influence outcome during games... I would say this is usually the case.. Like when I bet LSU -240 yesterday. I was going to win either way.. On the other hand Ive been betting the sun-devil-rays, every game last 3 weeks,, doing my best to sink them. Ill get 'rich' trying if not..lol But back to vacated wins, I hope not, but if they find out more games,, I dont see where they have a choice. Should just make them all no contest. And like I said if they do anything it will be years later . If they get hot and fall into a title like Rebs last year,, you think they will care if vacated 3 years later?? Actually they dont care about baseball anyways,, so nm on that.
Sure, let me rephrase. Based on the information that has been brought to light, there doesn't appear to be any connection to cheating to win games. Even if he were betting on his team some of the time (or providing favorable information to win), if it's just a matter of playing your best players at what is thought to be the best times, that's (alone) is hardly unethical.
