Link had a good thing going at ND. Slapped Tony Vitello silly. Holes had to move a couple mountain$ to get him to Tallahassee.
Wow, if that’s the case gotta wonder what’s going on this year as last year’s team was much better than this year’s team.
All kidding aside this has to be one of their worst teams ever. As I mentioned in this day and age no real reason to struggle the way Link is struggling. FSU pretty easy to recruit at and then there’s the portal. Throw in a roster that was decent and hard to figure this one out, especially considering Jr. was 34-25 and got fired.
There are a lot of leftover issues from what I understand. Rumor is there will be major housecleaning done in the off-season.
Yeah we blew them out all 3 games didn’t we. They are not devoid of talent plus they are going to give us their best shot since it is a rivalry game.
We beat them 9-5, 5-3 & 7-5. Nice, satisfying wins, of course, but not blowouts. FSU has actually gotten blown out by: UCF 14-3, Virginia 12-4 & 15-4, Miami 11-0 & 13-4, NC State 14-3, Virginia Tech 24-9, and Notre Dame 12-2. This is the WORST FSU team in the history of their program. That's a fact because they have never had a losing record, their worst winning percentage prior to this season being .529. They're 15-28 right now. They have a few good players, but compared to us they are very low on talent. And, yes I'm sure they give us their best shot because it's a rivalry game. The same applies to the Gators - we give them our best shot because it's a rivalry game. So I stand by my original statement. Blake Purnell was very impressive Tuesday night and I was thrilled to see his confidence grow in working his way out of several jams without giving up a run. But we do need to keep it in perspective and remember that he did this against a really bad team. He brought his season ERA down from 8.76 to 6.23. He'll get a chance to wield his stuff against a much better opponent down the road and I hope he can have the same type of success. It would be a boost to the bullpen if he can.
Noles had won four in a row against Mercer and USf. But back to ACC play, they lost a heartbreaker tonight in game 1 vs. Wake, 10-0. They are still three games behind 12th place in conference with five to play.
I know way too much about this, but they lost again today. So now, regardless of what happens tomorrow, they have to sweep Louisville next weekend to have even a chance to make the ACC tournament. If they don’t make the ACC tournament the streak ends. If they do make the ACC tournament, they have to win it to make it.
Noles can finish no better than 10-20. There are already 10 ACC teams with 11+ wins. NC State can finish no worse than 10-19. Pitt can finish no worse than 9-19. Bottom line: if the Noles lose one of their last four, Pitt wins one of their last five (up 6-4 home vs. Miami, mid-7th), or Louisville wins the last two against Virginia, their streak is over.
Pitt’s win formally eliminates them. Not sure any of them knew the circumstances, but it’s funny to think they needed a Miami win to stay alive. Go GATORS! ,WESGATORS
