I love this. These scumbags are finally showing their true agenda and that there is no difference between the Republican Party and the Taliban.

And, while things like this suck for the handful of intelligent people left in places like Texas, this does nothing but help our country. Because there is no moderate woman or independent woman who will vote for these despotic arse-clowns in any election.

It's readily apparent the GOP is in a death spiral. My only concern is that it doesn't take the entire country down with it.

My father was captain of an ocean liner and decided he didn't want to have a family any longer. Florida was a "fault" state then and, unless my mother had proof of another ground, she was going to have to allege desertion, which would require him to be gone for an entire year. She hired a private investigator to go one of his cruises. As luck would have it, she happened to pick one he had his new "friend" on. We got tons of pictures of them together, but the captain of a passenger ship is expected to socialize with the passengers and the investigator could not access the area of the ship where the captain's suite was located to get them going in or coming out of his cabin, so we had no clear proof of adultery. My mom knew what was going on and it was unfair the law made her wait an entire year before she could file. It kept the entire family's lives in turmoil and regressing back to those days is cruel.

Florida's fault grounds in the old days:

    Adultery
    Extreme mental cruelty
    Physical abuse
    Desertion (1 year)

Well that’s terrible. Let me get this straight. The GOP this year already has favored:

    • Lowering the age of consent
    • Eliminating the ability to divorce
    • Eliminating the ability to decide reproductive decisions
    • Blaming unmarried women for midterm losses
    • Requiring athletes to declare menstrual history
    • Disallowing women to leave the state pregnant
    • Blocking abortions even in rape and incest
    • Blocking child care funding for needy

Again, other than the direction which they are reading across the pages of their "holy book", show my how the Taliban and Republicans now are any different.

I guess the whole allowing biological males to participate in women sports is the real way to champion women's causes!!
Considering that around 50% of marriages end in divorce it might be a good idea to make it a little more difficult to just walk away. Maybe you think twice about getting married in the first place. It does state though that if both parties agree, nothing changes from current ability to divorce. Not sure I believe this is a huge step backwards against women. Marriage is tough and when it is so easy to just walk away you don't have to try to work it out. But if you're cheating or abusing the other, I don't think this law would slow the divorce down.

To be fair… rating an original post as off-topic is illogical. We’ll talk about this when you get home from school today.

Seems to be a real logical inconsistency of rating the original post in a thread "Off-topic" considering that the OP defines the topic of the thread.

Divorce is one of the great tragedies in our society. It victimizes kids and adults alike. It puts a huge financial burden on the spouse (often the woman making less or staying home.)

That said, forcing someone to stay married will likely increase the feeling of being trapped and lead to violence or even more scarring for children forced to watch hate fester in their home.

    Oh...Crowder is an idiot.
