Fed hikes a quarter point, but signals this could be it

    In stark contrast to the last group of losers Biden and his staff have been very professional even when much of his election chances are tied to the economy.

    Many Democrats are pushing the Fed to pause rate increases. Biden’s not one.


    Notably, though, President Biden and his aides have not joined those calls, even as he begins a re-election campaign that could be heavily affected by the state of the economy. Administration officials continue to tread carefully on interest rates and other Fed policy questions, saying they are respecting Fed independence.

    “We are very, very careful in speaking about the Fed and their policies and how they move forward,” Karine Jean-Pierre, the White House press secretary, told reporters on Monday.

    LOL, respecting the independence of the Fed to your political detriment is classic Democrat brain. Ask Jimmy Carter how that worked out! I guess Trump got the monetary policy he wanted and still lost reelection, so there's that.
