Keep in mind even the $92k country club fee is a non issue to me. A Supreme Court member joining an elite D.C golf club is not really out of bounds to me…

The thing with Kavenaugh was his massive 6 figure+ credit card debt. That level of CC debt was very unusual and I don’t believe it was ever properly explained. Does it matter if a judge is living the high life well above his means? I believe the “official” explanation for how he got so far in debt in the first place was season baseball tickets (rather than gambling). But loading up the CC and paying interest for… season baseball tickets seems a crazy explanation to me… does it to you? Of course the years of massive debt was erased prior to his hearings… without explanation. Just a coincidence I’m sure.

Uh.... I believe you said pay off his gambling debts and nowhere in that article does it mention gambling debts? That's odd? It also stated that the vast majority of the CC debt was baseball tickets and home improvements and they saw no impropriety.
I guess since he was a republican nomination you can just draw all these conclusions on your own and they must be valid? Even though the people doing the actual background found no issues?
Nothing like supporting your team and all things not D must be evil and corrupt while turning a blind eye to the injustices of the dem party.
    Good stuff!!

These people ? (Even though the people doing the actual background found no issues?)

Revealed: Senate investigation into Brett Kavanaugh assault claims contained serious omissions
Please read and remember: "Nothing like supporting your team and all things not R must be evil and corrupt while turning a blind eye to the injustices of the Pub party."

Hardly anything other than he said she said. No proof of anything in the link you provided. Obviously, you can think what you will about BK, but I tend to doubt the veracity of the original claims, and just because something was left out of report doesn't now make it factual.

Seriously? The investigators deflected to a guy for indecent exposure that wasn't even enrolled at Yale that year, but that's okay?
But you brought up turning a blind eye.

They were probably some of the same 50 that said Hunter's laptop was Russian disinformation!!
I don't know if there was veracity to the claim or not, but not unusual for high school seniors to attend fraternity parties. Maybe not in these days but back then....

It seems like there was a better thread to post this in but couldn't find it.

If that is the true full explanation from Kavanaugh himself, then I agree with you. It's sus. But somehow I don't think we're getting the entire story. That said, I'd prefer our SCOTUS justices not be buried in credit card debt. It's just not a good look. Maybe he had 0 interest for a time and points he was counting on?

Home improvements make more sense. A lot of people finance home improvements on a credit card. Men get a boner for a project and make silly financial decisions to get 'er done. Sorry for that visual, libs.

I'm so old I remember when Abe Fortas was forced to resign as a Supreme Court justice under threat of impeachment because he accepted a stipend from a client he represented when he was in private practice.
