Still technically possible. They can win the rest of their games and sweep the ACC Tournament. That will put them over 0.500. Chances of that happening though hover around 1.6%. So………no.
He's just saying it's mathematically impossible for them to have a winning record as an at-large team; making them ineligible for at-large consideration. They can no longer be "selected" to be in the NCAA Tournament. Their only route requires them to participate in the ACC Tournament (and, of course, win it). The real question is who are this weekend's games more meaningless to, Mercer (tied for first in SoCon) or SWAC (untied for last place in the ACC). Go GATORS! ,WESGATORS
I dont pay attention to scheduling in other conferences, but is it normal to play a weekend series with a non conference opponent this time of year?
I believe it is in the ACC. They all seem to play a non-conf opponent somewhere in the middle of the schedule. Miami is playing Presbyterian this weekend.
The problem is, they have 14 teams in their conference, and they have to play each other for a total of 30 conference games and 10 series for each team. It's gotta be impossible to figure out how to squeeze that into 10 consecutive weekends. Go GATORS! ,WESGATORS

They may not even make the ACC tournament as of now. They are dead last, two games behind in the win columns with three more games played than most teams, and have to finish 12th to get in. 2023 Baseball Standings - Atlantic Coast Conference
Not in a place to check it but I think the ACC starts their conference schedule a week or two before the SEC.
I looked at the FSU record book on their baseball webpage and it shows the lowest season winning percentage in the history of their program was in 1948 (.529) when they went 9-8. So this will be the first losing season in the history of Seminoles baseball.
FSU had their first ACC series the weekend of March 10. Florida opened their SEC season the following weekend hosting Alabama.
Actually, from what I have read there were some serious locker room issues last year that led to many players and their parents going to the AD and demanding Meat be let go. Link just happened to be available.
