I know one individual, personally, from NY who bought a $2M townhouse in Florida. They are not planning on living in it, but plan to list it as a $14k per month rental. I don’t think this is anything great for Floridians.

And the only reason we don’t have a state income tax is because of the near 150M tourists. Without them we’d be a total shithole instead of a regular shithole.

ya we have a serious wage problem in Florida. But it’s odd because there is a lot of money in Florida. No idea why wage growth is so slow here.

Initial thoughts are due to many jobs being low wage type jobs for theme parks.

There is truth here. But are you classifying teachers/police/firefighters/public servants as rich?

Are classifying all those coming to fill the jobs to serve these retirees as rich?

Just curious your definition of rich? We may have more in common on this issue than I thought.

    That said…it is relative.

There are plenty of people living paycheck to paycheck moving to Florida to get away from the policies in their state and find brighter pastures in Florida.

It’s a problem. We have the best Governor and government policies with arguably the best weather.

It is a real Catch 22 for someone who wants to invite all freedom loving Americans. But know we need to slow development big time. It is disgusting to see the Villages. If you have not driven down the turnpike lately. It is awful! The people coming get it but we are at a tipping point in order to protect our environment with the growth.

It’s bad. Can’t wait to get back to Palm Coast. That said…I am semi sheltered there in the C Section and a short boat ride to protected Old Florida. US 1 is about to blow up there as well…

DeSantis was effective at governing Covid. The Gold Standard. Making sure the high risk groups got access and protecting the low risk groups from bad medicine.

I won't deny that for Republicans, he must seem like a great Governor. Personally, I don't think there is anything I like about the job he has done.
