Not a fan of Fox but anyone remember when this guy was fired? It hurt the network in the short run but not so much in the long run. A Year After Bill O’Reilly Exit, Fox News’ 8 O’Clock Ratings Are Down – But Up From Pre-Trump Years
On Succession, ATN, a stand in for Fox News, just launched Living Plus, a community that you can move into in retirement to extend your life through some unspecified medical interventions. The joke was that because networks like that appeal to so many old people, they have to keep them from dying off to keep their ratings up.
I have wondered if his racial anger is genuine or not. Maybe so. I wonder if something happened to him personally. Doesn’t he spend most of his time in Maine, and when did that start? I have seen a gradual increase in the last few years of videos of Black people beating up White people. Many of the videos are years old and recycled. Many are justified. Tons of racist comments, and those accounts seem to have an agenda to piss off and scare White people. All consistent with Tucker’s increasing rhetoric. It’s the stormfront model, and mainstream sites like Breitbart played with it. They did it with Muslims, too, but I rarely see Muslim videos and Sharia law scares anymore. It’s all about Black folks. The current videos are being pushed to me on Twitter, although maybe that’s because I read both MMA and some right wing accounts. Has anyone else noticed this?
I'm not sure why Fox was so alarmed by that text. Did they not watch his show? He says racist shit all the time.
I think they assumed it was an act. It probably scared the crap out of them when they saw they had that big a personal liability on staff.
As much as I would like to pile on Tucker, I agree that it's not too far off from clips of things I've seen him say on the air. My first thought after reading was that it could have been much worse.
Yeah, they knew. But that shouldn’t stop you from piling on. He has earned it. There is a part of me that wants to give him some credit for his introspection. But his racial rhetoric kept escalating if anything.
yeah and especially once they realized the texts were part of the discovery process and would eventually be revealed to the public.
I think the problem with the text isn't so much that it was "racist" as that it showed he has an affinity for white nationalism. He holds whites males--a group he identifies with--to a higher standard than he holds other groups. This isn't much different than something a Mexican person or Italian person might say, but the problem here is that his identification is with the white race as a whole. And that makes him untenable as a representative for the network.
Another reminder that Brett Baier is NOT a straight news guy Newly-Released Texts Show Tucker Carlson Telling Bret Baier, ‘When Trump Loses, He’s Going to Blame Us’ and ‘That’s Going to Be Very Bad’
Ha ha. Fox sends Media Matters a "cease-and-desist" (cease kicking our ass I assume). Fox demands Media Matters stop publishing leaked Tucker Carlson videos | CNN Business Fox sent a cease-and-desist letter on Friday to Media Matters, the progressive watchdog, and its president, demanding that it take down embarrassing behind-the-scenes videos of Tucker Carlson attacking Fox News’ streaming service and making crude remarks while joking with staff. The footage, published over the last week in a series of clips, comes in the wake of Carlson’s abrupt firing at the right-wing network and as a steady drip of leaked text messages show the former primetime star making racist and denigrating comments. The sternly worded letter from Fox Corporation lawyers said the “unaired footage” is its “confidential intellectual property” and demanded Media Matters “cease and desist from distribution, publication, and misuse of Fox’s misappropriated proprietary footage, which you are now on notice was unlawfully obtained."
Looks like the shame of Tampa and AHN maybe auditioning for the slot. And with Max Clevenger out for the season and no lefty relievers ready in the system, please tell me Sean Gilmartin is fully retired and cannot come back
Boy is this a recipe for misinformation. Over/Under on the percentage of Press Sec statements deemed truthful on this show? 1%?
