Always been a fan of Steve Martin but never found Martin Short very funny or interesting for some reason.
That’s rich coming from a conservative such as yourself. Must be weird to have 99% of the creative output you enjoy in life (music, movies, theater, comedy, style etc) come from the left. Tell us more how we are unqualified to speak about it but YOU somehow are. Lol
"Legislate out of existence." Nobody's saying that Lia Thomas doesn't exist, all anyone is saying is that he's a dude and should be treated like one. And coming from a dude, there's nothing wrong with being a dude. If you're a dude who thinks you're a woman, God bless you I wish you nothing but the best, but there's something wrong in your head. Doesn't mean we should treat you any worse. It just means what's in your head simply does not match reality. And policy should be based on reality, not the feelings of less than 1% of the population.
1. That's a lot of comedy these days. 2. Is there any evidence that Martin only picks on transgender people? 3. I'm no genius, but I'm not so sure you have an IQ in the triple digits.
Same here, but live show Short stole the show. He did the puppet thing Jimmy Glick, where he would judge the style of famous people pics. Absolutely hilarious.
And this goes without saying, but Deputy Doodlehead is not your typical Republican voter. I don't think Joy Behar is your typical Democratic voter.
That small minority of people (and I agree they're a small minority) have gained a heck of a lot of power and influence to the point that corporations bend to their will. Underestimating them is one reason our institutions have become so much more "progressive" so quickly. To anyone who disagrees with this "small minority," the fight starts by supporting people who don't cave to them and not apologizing when you do nothing wrong. You do those two things, and you're slowly taking their power away.
Its a lot more important than you think because it goes towards the whole political correctness aspect of our culture, and politics follows the culture, but it’s also a frequent conversation because it’s an easy win. I would say taxes impact most people’s daily lives more, but most people understand there are good reasons to raise and lower taxes. There’s not much good reason to call men women just because they feel like it.
Watched John Mulaney's new Netflix special last night. Had some good spots but nothing incredible. The story telling was great though, as he's been in rehab and gotten sober since his last special.
I'm the opposite. I don't think Martin is bad, but I prefer Short. Maybe it's just Jimminy Glick that does it for me.
I guess he kinda had to address the elephant in the room, but maybe he needs to start doing coke again so he can get back to the zany humor we know and love.
I still cant believe they made a whole show of that character, that's when I thought Martin Short jumped the shark a bit haha.
