Whose players do you think Link is strapped with TJ? I got nothing for Link but he’s got Meat’s players to work with. I’m just enjoying the free fall…..
This is off topic but I happened to notice the attendance at Notre Dame since fsu is playing them this weekend in South Bend. ND is averaging way less than 1000 fans and they are giving away tickets! I could not find up to date figures but it seems that they have been averaging less than 500 over the past several years! No wonder Link left. Edit: Sunday’s game had a whopping 434 in attendance!
At-large elimination magic number now at 1. If they lose one more, their best regular season record would be 26-28; add that to a 3-1 (best-case w/o winning) conference tournament scenario, and they'd be ineligible at 29-29. Hopefully we can formally close the door on that story in a couple of days. At that point, they'll be stuck hoping they can win their conference tournament. But first, they have to qualify for it. There are still, technically, 7 teams that are ahead of them that they can catch: North Carolina (11-11), Va. Tech (11-12), and Clemson (11-10) each have a magic number of 1 to finish ahead of SWAC in Conference play. That's any combination of SWAC losses or each of their wins. After that, the race is at least a little more interesting: Louisville (9-12) has a magic number of 4, and they still have @ Clemson, @ Virginia, and SWAC still to go. Pittsburgh (8-11) has a magic number of 4, and they still have @ Ga Tech, Miami, and @ NC State. Have to think Miami would help with this one if it looked iffy. NC State (8-12) has a magic number of 4, and they still have @ Notre Dame, @ North Carolina, and Pittsburgh. and finally, Ga Tech (8-13) has a magic number of 5, and they finish with Pittsburgh, @ Duke, and Virginia. All SWAC (6-18) has to do is finish ahead of two of these teams. Go GATORS! ,WESGATORS
He will but flipping rosters these day with transfers in and out allows a roster to change quickly. Given his past, I’m amazed Link struggling this mightily. Even if he didn’t flip roster ( surprised on this one) he still has talented players. FSU always has and always will recruit well.
I suspect a lot of Nole fans won’t make the effort to go to tomorrow’s game. Care to guess fan ratio? I say least 4:1 Gators.
Nole fans in Jax don't get the chance to see any of their sports in Jax that often. I still think they will keep it to 3:1.
He was also seen as a mistake nepo hire by much of their fan base. Link will be seen as a competent hire who took over a mess by comparison. Having said that, another season as bad as this one and who knows, I think most assume they will show progress next year..
I feel so honored with emotions welling up in my soul. We should always embrace the privilege we share in sending them to their final resting place and ending the NCAAT run while celebrating the one time FSU won it all. At least the people of Fresno will always remember.
Yep, although Meat had his struggles kids definitely played hard for him. At times this year has looked like going through Motions. Jarrett could have very easily flipped 30% of roster if not more. Very surprised he chose not to. That tells me he felt he inherited some talent. They don’t have a big year next year and seat will be warm. Warm not hot. With baseball talent in this state and portal they should be a top 10 team every year.
