We saw a good show last night. Steve Martin and Martin Short were very funny and had a lot of political quips and jabs.
One thing my wife and I noticed was how many jokes they made about gays, lesbians and transitioning.

Martin Short showed a picture of himself at age 2 or 3. He told the audience, this is me after I had transitioned…crowd laughs and Steve said… to what gender though?
It’s like the good ole days and these libbies didn’t dodge the material that seems to upset people these days.
    Lighten up liberal crowd.

Last I checked, it's was not the "libbies", Democrats or even moderates who were looking to legislate a segment of our population out of existence.

However, glad you were able to get a good laugh at other people's expense. Now you will have new jokes to share at the next hate-rally you attend.

    Lol.
So the country needs to lose their sense of humor quickly to appease the madness of folks like yourself.
Do you ever smile or laugh?

If you went to a show where all the humor was at the expense of whites, would you feel the same way?

Comedian Jimmy Carr summed up how to navigate the waters these days.

"You can only make jokes that personally effect you. If you're Asian you can make Asian jokes. If you're fat you can make fat jokes. If your Jewish you can make Jewish jokes. Okay, everyone understand how it works? Good. So anyway, two pedophiles walk into a bar..."

That was also included in this show. The show wasn’t targeting any segment of the population. They just didn’t decide to run scared from the libbie, sensitive crowd.

That may be an answer to someone's question, but it didn't answer mine.

I follow comedy pretty closely. Never got the sense any stand-up is scared of material. In fact, I think some of the funniest lean into it. Because tension gets released as laughter. The important thing is if you're gonna go there, it better be funny.

Try again, but first look up the definition of "all" which was included in my earlier post.

I’ve seen a few comedians this past year including Sebastian Maniscalco, Nate Bargatze and Trey Kennedy. None of these guys or their openers made jokes about trans, or gays.
It was interesting that the liberals guys Steve and Martin Short last night made several.
    And they landed big time.

My wife just reminded me that we did see Trey Kennedy, a white guy who mostly did make fun of white people during his show.
You guys are a bunch of lackluster, no humor, white people hating Karens.

He didn't go to a show where all the humor was at the expense of LGBTQIA+. You are using a straw man argument.

Don’t you think that humor can help introduce the human-ness of that segment of our population and reduce the fear the rest of us might have? Steve Martin and Martin Short are funny guys and not known for cruel comedy.

I still don't think you can take that to mean they were scared of doing LGBT content. I mean, maybe. Or maybe they just don't find humor in it or couldn't find humor in it. Chris Rock went at some hot topic stuff in his last special and it was a dud. Because the jokes weren't good.

Just taking a general temperature of the country, I found it interesting and refreshing to see a show where people could be themselves.
    No one was off limits.

One of my favorite steve martin movies.
Martin Short stole the show last night though. I’ve never been a huge fan but he was quick, spry and at 73 he was skipping around the stage like a child would.
    Dude was a killer live.
