I’ll be keeping an eye on my utility bill and see if my garbage and recycling service at least the same once they take over. Chuck is going to have to answer some hard questions if they’re not.

No they didn’t. It was soldiers, marines, sailors, and airmen who were willing to sacrifice their lives for this country. Not some crappy musicians, and a bunch of camo wearing rednecks with the obligatory mouth mullet shooting up beer cans.

you are correct as to who is & who isn't doing the building??? but, but, washing machines....

Biden-voting counties equal 70% of America’s economy. What does this mean for the nation’s political-economic divide?

Most notably, the stark economic rift that Brookings Metro documented after Donald Trump’s shocking 2016 victory has grown even wider. In 2016, we wrote that the 2,584 counties that Trump won generated just 36% of the country’s economic output, whereas the 472 counties Hillary Clinton carried equated to almost two-thirds of the nation’s aggregate economy.

A similar analysis for last week’s election shows these trends continuing, albeit with a different political outcome. This time, Biden’s winning base in 509 counties encompasses fully 71% of America’s economic activity, while Trump’s losing base of 2,547 counties represents just 29% of the economy. (Votes are still outstanding in 28 mostly low-output counties, and this piece will be updated as new data is reported.)

I'm not a fan of these kind of stats. To me it's nothing more than poo-pooing small rural towns as less useful to our economy, when in reality we are all Americans and operate within a cooperative system where everyone's labor is valuable. I understand the numbers are the numbers. But small towns need a transmission shop just as much as Brooklyn needs another hedge fund manager. It's all symbiotic if you believe in a free market.

I concur. Although, it would be nice if Republicans stopped with their "real America" bullshit when talking about white, rural areas.

I think both sides could use a Wonderful Life experience where each of us gets to see a world where the other side never existed. I am guessing members of both groups would be shocked by the sad state of the “utopia” they would encounter.

    Again

But in the 4½ months that the law was enforced at public universities — before it was blocked by a preliminary injunction last November — only seven people reported potential violations of the law across the 12 campuses, according to records obtained by the Miami Herald through public records requests. All of the complaints were dismissed as unfounded, records show.

He's also admitted that he indeed advised them to do it:
DeSantis Says He Advised on Guantánamo Torture in Unearthed Video

To be clear, I think that force feeding is constitutional, and he was correct in his advice. But if the detainee isn't lying about them using it punitively and DeSantis laughing (which I don't necessarily disbelieve, considering what a repugnant person he is), that is disturbing.

If only Wade moved for the reasons he said. But he didn't. Why people just lie to lie is beyond me. Wade moved in 2020 way before this would've even been thought of as an issue.

You sure you posted the right video there, chief?

Bc it seemed more like RD knocked the reporter down a peg or two.

I mean...it's not too common for any politician to garner applause over an off the cuff retort in a presser--yet that actually happened in your vid.

Only those who get turgid whenever the Lollipop Guild governor speaks would think that.

I'd imagine senior officers would have no problem remembering junior ones that climbed to political prominence. Even if the said junior officer would fit in one of their uniform pockets.

He was in a room filled with Meatballers like yourself, of course they’d applaud him LOL. After Trump destroys him, you’ll find another way to spin it into a W for your beloved governor.

DeSantis maniacally laughing at something of that nature would be very on brand for who he is, so I’m inclined to believe it.
