Official schedule isn't out yet, but apparently the Colts will play a home game vs the Bucs in 2023. I hope both our guys are starting by then. I'm guessing two UF QBs facing off against each other in the NFL would be a first?

That would be epic and great for the Gator brand. Hopefully it happens

I'll be pulling for the Gators QB to win that game.

It’s time for Trask to get a shot but I hope AR gets to develop and isn’t forced to play. Who do the Colts have in front of him?

They got some young guys and a couple journeymen and veterans. It wasn't that long ago they had Jacoby Brissett. But right now I think it's Gardner Minshew and they picked up Matt Ryan.

As an AR fan I hope he doesn't start in any game his first season. He isn't ready and it would ruin him

I get the sentiment here, but in ARs case it may be true.

If the stories and our eyes are to believed he was ruined by Kentucky last year. It seems he's easily humbled and can be quick lose confidence. Not good in the NFL.

I think it just really depends on the player. Self-confidence is a real thing for many guys.

Sorry...but more likely to be Minshew versus Baker.

Better question is, who on their staff is the best QB Whisperer of all time? Who is good enough to take a mediocre college QB with almost no experience to be a starter in the NFL? I've looked at their coaches and none appear to know anything about developing QBs. Are they going to send him to a half dozen QB camps?

There are 3 other QBs on their roster - Ehlinger, Foles, and Minshew. Matt Ryan was the starter last year with Ehlinger and Foles getting a few reps (Ryan had 3,000 yards to their combined 800). The issue with AR going to Indianapolis is they screwed their pick. Indianapolis has a history of getting solid QBs who already know how to play the game. They get into trouble when they put the ball into the hands of an apprentice.

Well maybe Cam Turner is a better QB coach. He did coach Cam Newton, so there's the tie-in to why they picked AR. Turner is in his 1st season with Indy, so we'll see what happens.

I think so many pro people are enamored by his measurables and potential that they overlook his lack of experience and poor pocket passing. There is so much expected of him now as the 4th round pick that it adds a ton of pressure that I'm not sure he will be able to handle. How will he handle incompletions, picks, sacks, fans anger and press. We have seen him go into a shell with less pressure. Right now it's all fun and games but when meaningful games starts how will he respond? He will be going up against top defenses who will scheme against him, heck its tough for any qb let alone a rookie.
I want him to succeed and would have preferred he got picked in later rounds and would have time to learn from a veteran qb. I'm afraid he will be expected to start way before he's ready. Still, I hope he surprises everyone and becomes a star.

Trask will not be given the reins in Tampa unfortunately.

Haven’t paid much attention during off season but if the Bucs didn’t substantially improve their OL then I hope Mayfield does start the season. That OL flat out sucked last year

I hope AR sits. Can reach his potential if he does. I never thought Trask was a starter in this league and something tells me the Bucs feel the same.

He came back later and threw for 450 yards against UT and is heading to the NFL as the #4 pick. I wouldn't really consider that being ruined. He had a bad game, but so do a lot of players. That doesn't mean they are ruined.

To say that he was ruined is way out of line. To say that he does need a lot of work is spot on. Physically, he really doesn’t have any limits. The NFL will quickly figure out what he likes to do and take it away from him. I am hoping that he gets great coaching as I’m sure he will be willing to put in the work. As much as I’m pulling for him though I really hope not to see much of him until at least the 24 season.

He is going to have to adjust to the overall speed differential in getting rid of the ball, and several of those great plays that he made breaking away from pass rushers will not be able to be replicated in the NFL.

Here’s to many great Sundays for him in the future

That OL was pretty banged up as well. It will be interesting to watch this year.
