Winning games! Why didn't I think of that! :)
In the past people in the know have been able to say, "if we win 2 from X, sweep Y, and one from Z, then we have a good chance." Since this involves math, it is way over my head. I like to think there's hope.

ERA 5.66? Yikes. Everyone keeps putting the blame on CTW. I'm sure he made a run at decent pitchers in the portal. I credit him with not thinking, "Hightower, Trilek, okay we're good, nothing to do."

And before the CTW bashing goes too far, can you imagine how this season would look if Barnhill, Rodgers, Haegar, Nelson or that type of player was around?

Beating a dead horse, though it is the lack of player development that is more concerning than the fact that it took us much longer than it should have to get up to speed with portal/NIL.

We lost last year in the portal cause our NIL was not there. It is now with Florida Victorious.

Yeah - I think most of us, including Coach Walton, were thinking that Delbrey would be in the elite pitcher category this year. She had a very good freshman season and we all thought she would take that next step to being another in the line of great Gator pitchers. Losing Lugo and then having all 3 of the remaining pitchers basically regress is not something anyone could have predicted.

Just wondering, have any of our pitchers been taught a particularly effective change-up, or a really good rise ball? It seems like opponents start to get to us the second time through.

I agree. EH has trouble after 3 innings. Delbrey is hard to gauge, she might not make it out of the 1st or maybe make it thru 4. Rylee does the best but seems to run into touble around 5 innings.

Hightower has been working on a change-up for 2 years and it's effective at times. When she throws the ball in the dirt, I'm pretty sure that's a change-up that she didn't release properly.

Anyone in town for tonight's game is invited to come to Chicken Salad Chick in Butler Plaza to honor Kinsey Goelz.

This is a big weekend for her: Master's Graduation; Birthday (April 30th); Senior Day.
So come celebrate. All are welcome.

At tonight's game, Bender on crutches, Goddard now has an arm sling in addition to her knee brace.

I suppose with that giant knee brace and crutches Goddard could fall easy but for god’s sake that kid doesn’t need anymore injuries. And what could Bender have done?

Maybe Bender was borrowing Goddards crutches and the arm sling was all part of some elaborate rally ritual? If so please go back to the twizzlers.

Bender could have been borrowing the crutches just for yucks. It's not like I did a medical exam to verify -- :)

I think I might be more excited about Goddard coming back healthy next season and staying healthy than I am about the recruiting class coming in.

Idk I like Goddard a lot but the new class is desperately needed especially when it comes to pitching.

This recruiting class is the best in UF history. If they don't get the program back to an elite level, it's not going to happen. I'm totally psyched about 2024.

Reagan could be really special next season also and needed with Charla exiting. I used to joke that Reagan must be a great golfer with how she liked to go get balls at her shoestrings but now she’s launching high pitches as well. Nowhere in the zone will safe for pitchers going forward.
