Justin Hamilton was one of my favorite players. I can’t remember what year ( freshman or sophomore), but I thought Justin was an ace defender. His offensive game seemed to be coming around until he tore up his knee.

Yeah, I remember that injury. We were playing Georgia and I think Justin went down in the last minute or so of play. Ugh.

He was still a good player when he returned, but lacked that explosive burst he had pre-injury.

loved that dude. I can still hear Vitale calling him a high riser…an elevator man after watching my VHS recoding of that LSU upset. Taped the game even though my roommates and I went to it…can’t find the dang thing though.

one of my favorite games ever as a Gator. A few of us sitting 2 rows from Vitale rubbed his bald head after the win. I remember my first impression of Shaw was how big his feet and hands were, not that he was 7'1 295 (at 17/18 years old) or that Stanley Roberts was 7'0 310 (at 19). Biggest duo ever.

ESPN certainly doesn't evaluate him as a 6th-man guy.
Can you please tell me what point guards we have that are better?

    12. Tylor Perry, 5-11, SG, Sr., North Texas Mean Green

He's only listed at 5-foot-11, but Perry earned Conference USA Player of the Year honors and is one of the truly elite shooters in the country.
Shot 41.3% from 3 the past two seasons. Averaged 17.3 points.

He is a really good player. Not a true point guard by any stretch (Clayton passes and takes care of it better), but a terrific shooter who can get his own shot whenever we wants to. Hard even see exactly how we figure out roles Clayton, Kugel, and Richard, but I wouldn't complain if we had to.

And who is backing up whom in SEC play?
The higher-ranked senior backing up the sophomore?

Not sure it's a zero-sum game between starting and backing up. In a rotation, I suspect all four of them (Perry, Clayton, Kugel, Richard) would play about 30 minutes. But someone would have his name called to start the game, sure.

We can be a collection of guards instead of an alpha PG. Kugel/Richard/Lofton as a three-guard offense. Otherwise, we need a better instigator. Is Golden going to go "all in" for him? Or should I say, is he really going to go all in more than the competition?

As I see it, he is slow playing the system to get the best offer. Are we going to give it to him? I don't believe this is in our best interests. Lofton did not meet the standard. Golden would be 0-2.
