Yep. I guess you glossed over this part: The pooled results of RCTs did not show a clear reduction in respiratory viral infection with the use of medical/surgical masks.

So yeah, masks don't work as shown in their study. Thanks for pointing out i'm correct.

Despite that very clearly stating the results were inconclusive, some people decided to cherry pick one sentence out of the conclusion and erroneously run with that as a proven fact. Probably why they felt the need to put out a statement of clarification.

 

They weren't inconclusive. They showed masks don't work. It's why Walensky tried to say that the Cochrane study was retracted because anyone with a brain knows what it said. I guess you and the head grifter will keep drinking the masking Koolaid. Drink up!

I think Walensky was confusing the clarification statement with a retraction.

I did wear a mask early on but don't wear a mask now unless asked (which hasn't happened for at least 6 months). Not that my personal opinion on masks has anything to do with reading and understanding the authors' conslclusion.

 

You think the head of the CDC was “confused”? Come on man. If you really think that I don’t know what to say but I guess some people believe anything…

 

The CDC wasn’t confused at all about how easy it would be to terrorize the populace into compliance.

 

Walensky misspoke when she said retract. But the Cochrane clarifying statement that their study did not definitively determine the efficacy of masks should be easy to understand. And again, according to the Cochrane authors themselves, anyone making the claim that their study definitively states that masks do not work are being, "inaccurate and misleading." Again, Cochrane author's words.

I think masks work in lab environments, and when used properly in the real world for short time periods. Problem is, very few people wear masks properly. How many "chin straps" or "nose pokers" did we see during the mask period on any give day? At least 1/3, of not 1/2. And just how effective was the single use mask that has been hanging on a rearview mirror for 3 months with the driver using it every time he/she needed a mask? Not effective at all.

As the Cochrane authors themselves state, it is difficult to nail down the efficacy of mask wearing. And I think even a RCT trial wouldn't be too effective, unless you get a large enough trial of people wearing them properly 100% of the time in one group. Good luck with that.

As for the study itself, it didn't look at mask wearing, it looked at policies that promoted mask wearing and found that these policies themselves are inconclusive when it comes to COVID spread. One reason? The Cochrane study didn't look at mask wearing compliance, and proper adherence to mask wearing policies. So, if a place issues a mask policy, and only 50% comply, and out of those, only 50% wear them properly, is it the mask that failed to protect people? Or the lack of compliance? As Dr. Jessica Justman, an associate professor of medicine in epidemiology at Columbia Mailman School of Public Health said:

"Masks work if you wear them," Justman said. "But if you wear them very imperfectly, if you wear them in a way where they are only loosely fitting on your face and you take them off, let's say in a crowded restaurant to eat a meal, you can't then conclude when you get COVID that the mask didn't protect you because if you don't wear the mask properly, you're not going to get the full protection."​

 

Any honest doctor that has been through Medical School knows the Covid Mask policy was a complete virtue signal.

But the propaganda has worked on some here for sure.
