That 2017 team was great pitchingwise and maybe the best Gator team I have ever seen on the bump but not very good at the plate. This Gator team is great at the plate (except for the last three games) and maybe the best ever Gator team for hitting but not so great pitching.

Yogi said it best. "Pitching always beats batting — and vice-versa.'

Kudos to that 2017 team, but the Gators have had a couple of other teams that were more talented all around that didn't win a NC. Just gotta make the postseason and get hot at the right time. Some luck on the pitching matchups never hurts.

Exactly. Ole Miss proved your point last year.

And if we can get a top eight seed the path to Omaha is easier.

And getting to Omaha is required for getting a Natty.

I think that even after soiling the bedsheets this weekend we are still in line for a top eight seed.

No quotes from Sully in the postgame write-up. Maybe it was "unprintable". LOL.

Winning a Natty requires luck. The better you are the less luck is required.

What team drafted him out of high school? Did they screw up and make him play college ball?

That kid has a lot of tools.

Do the teams normally shake hands after the series? I saw a couple of Carolina fans saying we chose not to shake hands and went straight to the bus.

    Just curious.

Thanks, you too. You guys got a good one and very impressed with your baseball team. Especially considering you were missing some good starters and Noah Hall. Beamer looked like he was enjoying the game. That guy is always smiling.

Thanks for sharing Ocala. I like Jacob's analogy- UF baseball team looked like a Battle ship plowing ahead but now looking like one showing cracks in the hull. It's clear to everyone on this forum that we were showing some signs for concern on the bump in previous SEC series' but we'd managed to get through but this weekend the cracks began to show in a far more palpable manner.
Not convinced this squad has the "it factor" to be a National Seed but we shall see in the coming four weeks. Gotta get to 20 wins in SEC to have a realistic chance - as it's unlikely the SEC gets more than four National seeds. A sweep this coming weekend would be a big boost. Go Gators!

Not about to freak out over a weekend series sweep on the road in April. Clearly there are some things that have to improve. Wonder if we see Cade Fisher get a Sunday start. Think it might be good to flip Sproat and Waldrep at this point if just to shake things up. BUT if we don’t hit it’s not going to matter. This isn’t 2017 people aren’t playing 2-1 games - offense has to show up or you lose.

    Yes—this……

“There’s your run kid, go get’em” ain’t cutting it—you’ve got to have at least 3 different innings where you’re putting a crooked number up to come out on top.

I think the coaches decide whether they will or not beforehand. Sometimes they do, sometimes they don’t.
