Gotta try to salvage one win this weekend but our approach at the plate has been puzzling- no assertiveness, taking FBs down the middle and swinging over sliders and breaking balls- 5 runs in 2 games not gonna cut it in this league or any other. Hoping Cags can throw strikes and give us 4-5 inings and let Slater take us home.
I expect a different team today. Attacking pitches instead of watching. Bunting for hits and to move runners over. To be great at some point have to be able to do this. Scratching and clawing for everything with and showing mental toughness. One other thing: Petry, the big old Florida boy. No more curveballs or sliders ONLY fastballs on the outer half and if we walk him I’m fine w that. He’s the real deal!!

Same lineup for the Gators? ... BT is killing us in the 4 hole. Hitting .208 with 25 Ks in 53 ABs vs SEC comp and last night- hit into a tailor made DP that killed a potential inning. Gamecocks starting a LHP- would be good to shake up the lineup some but I guess not.
Wish game was on real tv. (I know it is online and I can find it but my old man, now living in a memory care/health center facility, is not really capable of finding the game on an app or online- and he just loves watching these gator baseball games).
This team needs to get the killer attitude. Ranked #3, is not #1, and that should give some drive to the situation. 5 bases loaded walks in a row and swinging on a 3-0 count (to make an out), is not good baseball. All the talent in the world but not playing smart. I hope a leader steps up in a players only meeting and goes George Brett on a urinal with a bat...... Send the message for the second half run..and... GIVE 'EM HELL GATORS!!!! And yes, if I'm Sully, I adjust the lineup to get productivity. Not saying a total benching, but an order repositioning......
