I'm not making it up. I'm not a maga person at all. And you sound partisan when you say those events are "so minuscule". What I find interesting is some Children's hospitals were advertising child trans surgeries and once some people started asking questions they amender their websites. If you want to read about this issue it's out there for you. Once you turn 18 do what you want, but I think we should have some limits on what kids can do. Number of transgender children seeking treatment surges in U.S.
Also, who's saying gay people can't live their life? NOW, if said gay person wants to walk around with his junk out in front of my teen daughter, then that's where I and many others draw the line. You sound like you are parroting left wing talking points here fyi.
So you’re fighting for gay rights? Lol Newsflash…the gays have already won. They’re literally in every movie, tv show and most commercials. Have fun with your fake culture war. In 2023 gays win big. The 1% are truly more representative than the rest of us. Congrats.
Does that mean you’re fine with a straight guy walking around with his junk out in front of your teen daughter? Why would a gay guy want to expose himself to your teen daughter anyway? Your teen son might make more sense.
I'm talking about drag shows that have kids present. I've been to a few drag shows and they are absolutely not the place for anyone under 18. Here is the quote of the person I was responding to: "There is no legitimate reason why in 2023 we should be having a debate as to whether gay people should have the right to be gay and the freedom to live their life."
I’ve provided evidence on this forum, then the forum rallies together to attack the source even if it’s really just re-releasing videos provided by leftists.
It was the Supreme Court that struck down criminal penalties for sodomy (6-3 decision). It was also the Supreme Court which very narrowly made same sex marriages legal in all states. That was a 5-4 decision before the makeup of the Court changed, and it would have come out differently today. So lots of states have opposed gay people living their lives. We know from Dobbs that the Court isn't going to give much deference, if any, to its precedent. If those protections go away, do you think the states would all implement these protections voluntarily?
Correct. A legitimate case can be made that the LGBTQ community has more cultural power now, despite accounting for a tiny part of the population, than traditional Christians. And again, in an ideal world I don’t care all that much. I’ll mind my business if you mind yours. But somewhere down the line, very active groups decided it was important to try to ruin the lives, careers, and reputations of anyone who disagrees with them. And those groups are powerful. So for that reason, you’re damned right I care about power. If you’re trying to bully people into submission and not let them live their way of life, try to take away their job, etc. then the best defense is a good offense. That’s not being unprincipled or hypocritical, that’s having a backbone. And I only support, I guess, counter-cancel culture against advocates of cancel culture.
You don’t need Obergefell to codify the legalization of gay marriage, nor should you. I think Obergefell got it wrong, but I’d support a state amendment in Florida to legalize gay marriage and same sex adoption under the same rights and restrictions of heterosexual couples.
That won’t stop him from announcing that loudly and proudly (as he already is). Facts and truth matter little and get ignored (or worse, they get hidden) on the campaign trail because they are obstacles to being elected.
Sure. That could be said about other things as well. My point was that it's not as if everybody is on board with gay people living their lives. They're not. If the Supreme Court reversed itself on Obergefell, do you think the Florida legislature would pass a law allowing and recognizing same sex marriage? I doubt it.
They never think their posts through. The last check “does this post make sense” is not on the checklist
Pro - jec - tion... Sing it to yourself to the tune of Tra- di-tion from "Fiddler on the Roof" That's really fun!
Then they'd reap the political backlash from it. Like money is the best motivator for businesses, votes is the best motivator for politicians. Let's just say I'd be incredibly disappointed if they took steps to prohibit it.
This post resonates strongly with me. Even more so due to posts from some right wingers posting on this forum/thread, who now claim to be opposed to Santis or right wing extremists, yet continue to antagonize those with whom they disagree rather than look for common ground.
