Why did the 84b year homeowner have a gun that he is not mentally fit to use.

My then 16 yo daughter wrote this poem exactly 10 years ago, still apropos

I was a nineties child, born
    the year Clinton was re-elected,
my Saturday carton was Spongebob, Daniel Craig is my James Bond,
I am a nineties child, born three years before Columbine,
and I do not remember a world that
    doesn't fear.
I am a nineties child that was
playing with Play-Dough when the towers fell,
dancing at a wedding when someone told us, Virginia Tech.
I woke up one morning to a headline ten feet tall,
I was thirteen, eighth grade, thirteen and
I knew we got Bin Laden.
I am a nineties child who speaks in text abbreviations,
and my nation has been at war whenever I can remember.
I am a nineties child who knows of airport security,
never complains about it cause I never knew before,
no sunscreen, lip gloss, water bottles in my carry on,
stop the woman in a headscarf because
those people, you never know, and I am a nineties child who
saw Hurt Locker win best picture and Afghanistan invaded
and my mom said, put on Barney, come on, sweetie.
    It's just TV.
My dad checks his phone one day and whispers, "Gabby Giffords",
I wake up a summer morning and the news-word is Aurora,
six people were shot as a Sikh temple
when I was solving for x sixth period and
in the middle of my math exam, bullets flew at Sandy Hook,
and I just kept solving for x because I
    didn't have a clue.
And the next morning, there was a newspaper headline,
big as the day we got Bin Laden,
I hug my mother, and I tell her, I'm still here,
because I am a nineties child with everything to fear.

The 2nd Amendment baby! You got to pass tests to drive a car at that age, but you can sure as hell buy a gun no questions asked!

These 4 shot because a basketball rolled into a neighbor’s yard. And the guy should not have had a gun.
    https://www.qcnews.com/news/u-s/nor...h-for-suspect-after-gastonia-double-shooting/

Family members tell Queen City News the six-year-old girl, identified as Kinsley White, was released from the hospital overnight and that the violent incident stemmed from a neighbor who was upset that a basketball rolled into his yard

He came out with a gun, he started shooting,” she said. “Hope my daddy is okay.”

We live in a country where the most mentally deranged psychos can easily obtain weapons, so naturally a senile old fart who is scared of his own shadow can easily get one, too.

He should have been behind bars after his assault in Dec. How he is allowed out and on the streets is beyond me.

Female was a licensed security officer with a criminal history… shoots someone over a phone charger she was trying to shop lift. 2 year old baby in her get away car.
Wonderful additions to society. Lock both of these cretinous individuals up for life.

Shut in senior citizens who watch FNC all day are a major problem in this country. Ones with guns are even worse.

The KC shooter was marinated in fear, conspiracies, and NRA propaganda says grandson.

    https://www.kansascity.com/news/local/crime/article274517706.html

Ludwig said his grandfather had been immersed in “a 24-hour news cycle of fear and paranoia.” “And then the NRA pushing the ‘stand your ground’ stuff and that you have to defend your home,” he said. “When I heard what happened, I was appalled and shocked that it transpired, but I didn’t disbelieve that it was true. The second I heard it, I was like, ‘Yeah, I could see him doing that.’” Does he consider his grandfather a racist? “I believe that there have been some positions that he’s held that have been bigoted or sort of disparaging,” Ludwig said. “But it’s stock Fox News, conservative American stuff. It’s ‘anybody who gets an abortion is a murderer.’ And ‘fatherless Black families are the reason why crime exists in this country.’ It’s stuff everybody’s heard at the Thanksgiving table every year.” Ludwig said his grandfather’s paranoia had accelerated in the past couple of years.

Apparently, it’s okay to shoot the pizza guy once, but it’s not okay to shoot him again after he is lying on the ground.

He should still do the time for his crime. Watching Fox News is not an excuse.

Perhaps that 787 billion dollar settlement was just the tip of the iceberg.
