Well Davis, if QB play does not improve dramatically, I will snatch that 8 Ball up, cut it open and line up some I-4s.
But Max can do that. I’m open to Simmons reclassifying, but we really need a proven dude at this point.
Nailed it. Just listened to Cover 3 with. Scathing remarks on our spring game. “CBN seems a bit snake bit at QB- refused to alter offense for AR, commited to a fairly conservative game plan. Loses one QB to hideous criminal charges, loses another to NIL. Evaluates 23 QBs in the portal and can’t land Tulane or Coastal QBs but gets what had beeen a mediocre to-now- Mertz and claims ‘he was the best QB we evaluated”. Kid gets here and manages to score 1 TD in a battle with another big 10 transfer - who also only got 1 TD… they lose 2 of the best lineman in the portal - 1 is now a starter at USCw-, lose a top Og, T and center to injury and bring in a Baylor transfer who also may transfer ??. It makes you wonder what is going on down there and at this point, even if CBN has a plan- what spring transfer is going to want to come there and run for his life and play in this offense?”
Like Ive said, CBN has all the support a new coach can get but the questions marks are piling up fast. He has been dealt a bad hand..if we are 3-3 midway through the season...oof that seat gonna get hot.
Green Acres had Arnold the talking pig (he talked to everybody except Oliver Douglas and the viewer).
On paper, if someone were setting odds right now, Florida will most likely have 3 losses before the Vandy game (Utah, Tennessse, Kentucky). That Vandy game could be must win to go 3-3. The reality is expectations for this year are “bowl eligibility” and it’s more about rebuilding. Of course if we get off to a better start those expectations can adjust, but “on paper” that’s where it is.
Now do Petticoat Junction... All kidding aside. Give me McCall all day long, from the portal, and let the competition begin.
Napier should alternate Miller and Mertz, like Spurrier did with... somebody. FSU did it with Jimmy Jordan and Wally Woodham, although I think they did it only because of the alliteration.
That is out-of-the-box thinking. If Napier is at that place in building the program and he is inclined to use new tools, I can see him giving it a try. But if he is still getting other pieces in place, I don't see him expending his focus in that direction. I much prefer the throwing QB versus the passing QB dynamic and using who is working better against a particular team's defense. We don't have that, unless Brown is that second guy. I think we are going to have another sobering season.
