So hard to say because we saw so little of him. IMO, it’s usually not a good sign if a guard can’t get into the rotation early, but we also has a deep team with more experienced players. I am absolutely confident we add another guard who can help at point, though.
What I saw was a team that needed a better option than Bonham once league games started. It is pretty telling that he did not get much of an audition. But we shall see.
PG: Kugel (So), Aberdeen (So) SG: Clayton (Jr), ____________ SF: Richard (Jr), ____________ / Haugh (Fr) PF: Jarvis (Sr), Szymczyk (So), Condon (Fr) C: Handlogten (So), Samuel (Sr)
That looks great! That rotation could develop into a very tough team to beat . . . and may still yet get a PG transfer, moving Kugel more to the 2 at times. Lots of interchangeable parts makes both preparing for and in-game defending a fluid team harder for other teams.
I guess if we need to play bully ball, we have the players now. Hopefully as a team we get more rebounds, both offensive and defensive. We just need a pg who can light it up and slash to the basket and finish. Steals and assists would be nice, and play good defense. A fast, strong determined player that is a winner. with the pieces we have to surround him, he would have space due to good solid players and scorers. Only the best need to apply………
Anyone know where we currently stand with PG Tylor Perry? I know he's still taking visits (Bama this week). Wondering if the staff feels good about him coming here.
He did that to the other teams too (#NotCommitted). A couple of more recent Arkansas posts but I think he went there after visiting Gainesville. He has to like the roster additions and the need at PG for the good guys. We'll see . . .
It's been years since we've this much size and depth up front. It'll be nice to see us finally outrebound the rest of the SEC. Getting hammered on the boards got old years ago, and I'll be extremely disappointed if it happens again this coming season. We lose CC. That's a big, big loss. We lose JJ. Not much of a loss. We more than make up for it with Samuel, Handlogten, Jarvis, Condon, Haugh, and Shimmy.
He would be a great pickup, but he probably is headed to Arizona. I also like Posh Alexander. He’s not a great shooter, but he is a terrific player and, arguably, the best point guard defender in the country. I also love Ques, but he’s not on the radar.
That's what Malik has been suggesting on Twitter, but I haven't seen or heard it anywhere else. Kid has played it very close to the vest.
Great flow to his game, has good counter moves to the defender, like a chess master. With his skill, hard to pressure him, seems like a great target.
