    His defensive rating is surprisingly good (given that he doesn't look like the most explosive athlete). 99.5 points allowed per 100 possessions when he is on the court. That is really good. His offensive rating is also solid (117.6 points per 100 possessions), but that is less surprising when you see his shooting efficiency, including from 3, and passing ability, which leads to great spacing and more opportunities for his teammates as well. I would guess a lot of that defensive ability comes from rebounding. He struggled shooting against FAU, but did outrebound their over 7 foot center 10-5.

    my son works at UNCC and works with the athletes and his quote is Aly is soft as Angel Soft toilet paper. Can shoot and has moments but got pushed around a lot. We wanted Samuels first and Aly knew he was the backup coming in.

    In addition to all the great information here on BYU’s push for Egyptian born Khalifa, the Deseret News announced the day before that the BYU women’s team had just signed Egyptian center Jana Sallman.
