    A little too much fun.

I have to make the obligatory negative comment on the Gators so everyone can pile on and I can look like a fool later. I don't mind taking one for the team. ;)

It appears so. I made another post about it on the last page. That’s gonna sting a bit.

he might have probably been warned but we had already gotten a warning earlier in the game for Cags’ stare down of the home plate ump.

Was at the game and the tension was very high when Neely got his strike out and bubbled over with emotion. The home plate umpire spent the entire inning turnover earlier in the game when Cag's stared down his inning ending strikeout victim lecturing Coach O'Sullivan about the inappropriate behaviour by Cags. I knew at that moment, as the home plate umpire lectured Sully, that if anything close to this occurred with our pitchers later in the game the home plate ump would toss our pitcher. You can hide behind the "rules" all you want but his ejection was decided long before it happened. That umpire was going to show who was in charge. No grey area to him, it was all black and white, even though I have seen much worse overlooked by umpires during the heat of battle. I have never heard a Gator home crowd so angry.

I just found this under Section 26 of the of NCAA baseball rules:
    e. Whenever a pitcher is ejected for disputing an umpire’s decision or for unsportsmanlike conduct or language directed at an opponent or umpire (including a post-participation ejection), the suspension will be for a total of four (4) games. This applies whether the ejection occurs while the player is serving as the current game pitcher or after having been removed from the game and his last listed position was that of a pitcher. If a player is removed as pitcher but remains in the game in another capacity such as a designated hitter or at a defensive position and is then ejected, the suspension penalty is one additional game.

I hope UF has the right to appeal the ejection/suspension or I hope this is somehow not the correct rule. That would be ludicrous if Neely can't pitch at all at South Carolina!

Didn't go to the game but watched most of it. I had to put the finishing touches on my tax return which was complicated with having a rental property and an installment sale on a second rental property.

First of all it is always great to beat the Dawgs.

Cags has got to find a way to lower his pitches per inning. Not looking to strike everybody out is a start. Maybe learn to start some guys off with a change-up to try to coax a weak grounder. One pitch outs are usually better than six pitch Ks.

But dang Cags did have a nice day at the plate.

Rivera this year at the plate looks nothing like Rivera from years past. He has been a very pleasant surprise.

Heyman looks really good at 1B. Maybe Cags will be the permanent DH going forward.

I posted the same thing a little while ago. Won’t hold my breath waiting on an appeal in our favor.

I guess that the rule is written this way so that starting pitchers can be actually punished.

Agree, so the SP would miss one game-A closer could miss up to 4 games if they are close. How can this be fair?

That's a tough pill to swallow for what little Neely is guilty of. Looking towards their dugout as he's walking towards ours saying, C'mon! As least that's all I saw him doing.
