Radio said Sullivan was last week's SEC Pitcher of the Week in their win over Kentucky. Its a real paradigm of a game so be ready for anything. Sully will have to dig deep and make the right calls to help us thru. I know we don't play small ball but a bunt every now and then to keep the defense wondering would be nice if we have any trouble hitting.
FLORIDA wins in blowout fashion like our last two wins; not even worried. Bats rolled late last night after the game. Go GATORS! ,WESGATORS
In my vew: after Friday's meltdown, last night's game was pivotal in many ways. I even commented to fellow fans that the game had the tense atmosphere of a Regional. It was a must win and win we did in dramatic fashion. Waldrep convinced me he's our #1 - he shows a mental toughness and command of a variety of pitches that separates him from the rest. Today, is also a key ballgame and could determine whether or not we can stay with Cags as our Sunday guy or not. I hope yes. I hope he can find the command in the strike zone that he displayed in the first month of the season where he was arguably our top guy. And also hoping we can jump on the Dawgs starter early- last night we were befuddled by a guy who's top velo was upper 80s. I don't have the book on their SP -- Sullivan- but he's a big boy and was SEC pitcher of the week so likely a hard thrower which suits us better. Let's win the series!
Having Jac DH rather than play first base saturday, was part of Sully's preparation for his Sunday start. Hope it helps his focus.
Such a conundrum in the Condron today. One week ago todays starting pitchers were on opposite ends of the spectrum. One was pitching at the top of the SEC level and the other had the worst day of any starter last weekend.
87— Agreed, but for sure you can’t play this game looking in the rear view mirror! Let’s get together and go to work Gators!
Couldn’t agree more on small ball. BT and Cags are given the bunt almost every time up due to shift and just overall depth. Gotta win this series.
Okay Gator fans. Time for big boy baseball today. I expect Cags to have a good day at the plate. He's only hit 1 homerun in 8 games so be ready for him to launch out of his slump. On the flip side we are throwing a LHP Cags against their 5 strong righthand hitters. Location Location Location
You added two more I missed. That’s at least 4 opportunities a game. If we even add 1-2 hits could be huge. Win last night was big because continues to show we can win tight games.
I noticed Chuck Jerolaman reminding Cags to stay more upright and quit reaching with his arms on pitches on outer half. Book is out on him. Outer half and challenge w fastballs up and out of zone.
