The Pubs are NOT that big on those talking points that you mentioned. Pubs are NOT into that phony azz "culture" war crap. I think it's more about Trump winning more and more head to head polls that are making them pause on donations. Look around at the polls and you will see what's really happening.

The biggest problem with the Pubs are the Christians. Americans are moving away from religion, and they are doubling down, especially with Abortion. Its not a winning strategy. Whats sad is the Dems are so damn bad its still a contest. If this was the Clinton or JFK dems, it would be a landslide in 2024.

DeSantis has a tightrope to walk. He has to convince the bulk of Republican voters that he is Trump. He has to convince the big-money donors that he isn't.
He failed in eagerly backing Trump so quickly when he was indicted by the NY AG. Like a scorned lover running back to the ex. Makes it difficult to chip away when you're supporting them.

except the federalist society ahs taken over so much of the judiciary that they don't need the elected offices anymore, they have appointments for life and only need enough pubs to avoid indictment and removal. control the judiciary and bind up the checks and balances with enough zealots and you can control the direction of the country
The 6 week abortion ban is going to absolutely kill him if he makes the general. Same way abortion backlash killed republicans in 2022... that's why he signed it in the middle of the night and didn't even mention it the next day during a speech he gave. Everyone knows he's now unelectable, except for maybe him.
The problem for them is that their batshit crazy decisions, like the Texas judge's ban of the abortion med, will turn more people against Repubs who are running for election.

Absolutely. The political branches have a great deal of control over the judiciary. The biggest thing they can’t control (other than confirmed judges’ rulings) is when a judge dies or whether they step down at any given time before then

The Hungarian-born billionaire told the Financial Times that DeSantis has lost some “momentum,” making him “reluctant” to commit to the not as yet declared contender for the 2024 primary nomination. He was just using that as an excuse, he's basically telling DeSantis get off your ass and get in and prove you can beat Trump or were throwing our money to the person that can win and right now it's Trumps.
