I wonder if Sully will DH Cags tomorrow, play Riopelle at 1B and have Heyman catch. Not as a "punishment" for the throwing error but to take a bit off his plate the day before a pitching start so he can put more focus on that.
Just when we thought it was safe to go back into the water. Dang there's nothing good to take forward from last night. Too many questions keep coming up. The biggest question we all wonder, will this team have a chance to peak at the right time? I wonder what Ole Miss would say about that.
We need Waldrep and Jac to be on their game. Georgia can hit and they now have confidence they can beat us.
Got to get back on track after a memorable meltdown when we threw our top guys. In the last two SEC games (losses) we've given up 27 runs- can't win many like that. Neely likely burned for the series - and I am left wondering about the residual effect on him after a meltdown performance like last night. Not sure why --when he clearly did not have his stuff -- he was left to twist in the wind as he was. He seemed pretty pissed off when he got back to the dugout. Lots of questons emerging after the last two SEC games so hoping Waldrep brings his A game and we get back to our wining ways.
Let's move on from last night..win tonight and tomorrow...chalk up last night to a bad outing, teams have those, it's unfortunate, but happens..hopefully the team has moved on and learned something from their mistakes Go Gators
Hopefully just mad at himself for his performance. That’s the thing, at a place like Florida others can step in. Slater’s stuff for performance against FSU was high grade. He would be my “next guy up”. For 1-2 innings I’d absolutely trust his stiff
You only get like 2 minutes to first pitch now when you bring someone new in, so they have to be ready to go. It took time to get someone ready. You think Neely is mad at Sully for not having someone up and ready when he took the mound in the ninth needing three outs with a four run lead? If I were Neely, I’d have been pissed off if he did have someone ready as that would show a complete lack of confidence in me. He was pissed off when he got back to the dugout because he had a bad showing. Every pitcher that comes back to the dugout after giving up a lead is going to be pissed off. Every pitcher I’d want in my dugout, anyway.
By the time I get to my car his comments are over. And forget about getting any useful information from the Gainesville Sun.
Important to note, watching Georgia take batting practice almost everything they hit is center to pull, probably 95%. Most anything oppo is a groundball to second. Waldrep needs to live on the outer half of the plate tonight and hopefully is good enough to paint the black often.
